Is it just me or have some races life span changed?

Edit: never mind its not in Dwarves V1. In the book De Rerum Dirennis the person claims to be 611 years old. Isn't it said somewhere that Calcelmo is around 400?

Just adding, if you do the Return to your Roots quest, the women claims she worked side by side with Sinderion, Her younger sister even remembers SInderion, which means they are both over the age of 200 seeing as the game takes place 200 years after the Oblivion crisis. Last I heard most Elves only live to be 120 or 130 at the most.

First of all any race can live an unnaturally long time with magic. Secondly Dunmer can live for a couple centuries even without magic and Altmer for several centuries without magic. Example: Divayth Fyr is a ludicrously powerful Dunmer necromancer and has lived somewhere around 1000(?) years as a result.

Elves can live for hundreds of years without magic, it's just most of them die from sickness or get killed before then.

Also I love when you post all the Blue makes me feel calm.

According to one of his "daughters" he is 4000 years old.

Though I wonder if its even possible for him to die from natural cause. If not hes going to be around til the end of time unless someone can actually kill him... minus your Morrowind character. Killing old wizards for daeric armor is a no-no :nono: :nono:

His in-game class is irrelevant, the Telvanni extend their lives through necromancy. And if you knew that why are you asking this?

4000 actually.

And while it's true most elves die when they're around 100-150 that is mainly because of disease or violence, Nirn is a harsh world. It is however perfectly possible for an elf to live to be several centuries old if he lives a safe, clean, relatively disease free lifestyle, basically age correlates directly to quality of living, just as in real life. And as stated, some (all races) can live to be extremely old simply through magic, like the incredibly awesome Divayth Fyr.

I want to see that guy again, I refuse to believe anyone has managed to kill that guy yet, certified badass is what he is.

Because that is age achieved through magic, I was told at one point that no elven race lives past 130 or so naturally. I don't remember who told me but I remember seeing it somewhere here.

Edit:

I think I know where the person that told me that got their info, only they must of been misinformed as well because this elf is speaking only of his family.

Alvur Relds: Well, I'm fifty, done my twenty years in the Service, and I'm in the prime of life. I expect another fifty good years, and then I'll be old, and slow, chatting with gaffers around the hearth for another twenty, thirty years. I've known mer still mind-sharp in their late hundreds, and heard of folk 200 and older. My family usually makes it to 120-130, providing we don't get sick or poked in the eye

If I remember correctly Dunmer and Bosmer live for 300-400 years, Altmer up to 800. This not counting methods for artificially prolonging life. I may be wrong, last time I read something on the subject was in the Morrowind days.

The guy in Riften is the last of the Telvanni

So about Divayth Fyr, I wonder if we will ever see him again. hes pretty much legendary... Im sure he just could teleport off of Vvardenfell in the Red Year.

Also I know some lore, but does anyone know how long 4000 years ago from Morrowind actually was? Is that like First Era?

The lady that knew Sinderion doesn't have to be 200 years old. She could have been quite young (20 or so) when they met (which would have been after the oblivion crisis), and Sinderion could have been dead for a good 10 - 20 years, so I'd say he was somewere between 200 and 250 years old, and that lady probably ~150 years old.
I was also a little surprised when I read that book about the 611 year old guy.
I just thought elves lived for a long time, but I didn't/don't know how long.

Actually, yes she does. She claimed to work with him on Nirn Root, we know he was studying Nirn root when we helped him, and that he was about to write the book right afterwards.

Funny you should say that because a Breton killed him for his armor one time. :whistling:

If the mannimarco you kill in Oblivion is the actual mannimarco (just saying that because he seemed pretty pathetic), then wouldn't he be pretty damned old? UESP says he was born in the 2nd era.

Mannimarco is a necromancer though, necromancy would appear to be the most effective way to prolong your life and can potentially make you immortal.

Then why hasn't his body decomposed or mumified?

He isn't. The ream Manimarco became a god in Daggerfall, along with a lot of other things simultaneously happening. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:The_Warp_in_the_West_%28event%29
