Just how many times have you played Oblivion?

Oblivion is my favourite game of all time by a large margin. I'm just playing through the game again on my PS3 (being very careful about my saves etc).

It got me thinking...this must be at least the tenth full playthrough I have done either on the PC or the PS3.
I never start the game and then give up....I always play all the way through.

1) Thank you Bethesda for the hours and hours of entertainment you have given me.
2) How many times have people on this forum played the game all the way through?

It is impossible for me to calculate. I don't think in terms of "playing all the way through." I play a character until I feel her story has been told. That might occur after ten minutes or 1000 hours, at level 1 or at level 50, after doing one quest or after doing hundreds of quests. Some of my characters do no Bethesda-penned quests at all. It all depends on the character I am playing and the story I am telling.

I can say, however, that I have spent several thousand hours playing this game. And I'm not done yet. :)

1). Bethesda called me, they said "you're welcome".

2). What does "all the way through" mean, though? Are you talking about all quests, every quest in the entire game? If so, then I've never played Oblivion. If you're talking about the Main Quest / Mehrunes Dagon crushed, etc., then my answer would be once, in 2011, with my Grey Wizard character.

If you're talking about how many playthroughs you consider as "valid" (characters which last until you feel a bond with them), then my answer would be right around ... well dang I'd have to count 'em. Hmm... let's see.

1). Renee Gade (original)

2). Renee Gade II

3). Igodah Go^Pe

4). Wanda Bone

5). Luci Pheria

6). Dyan phor a'Cauz

7). Eradi~Kate

8). The Grey Wizard

9). Kahreem of Weet

10). Lady Saga (PS3)

11). Lady Saga (Xbox)

12). Ann Thraxx

13). Snaat Rayag

14). Lady Saga (PC)

15). Renee Gade III (daughter of RG2)

16). Sarah Phimm

Fourteen. I mean 16. :geek: :D

I've played Oblivion since the GOTY came out. For several years I bounced around in games including Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout, but I settled down to mostly playing Oblivion. Now days I play two or three times a week.

I have played about 25 characters over the years. Most of which I still visit occasionally, however only two of those characters have finished the Main Quest. My present character, Baa, was the last to finish and that was in March 2012 when she was at 1,200 game hours. She is now approaching 4,000 game hours and 7 real world years. Although I like closing Oblivion gates, I think wandering around exploring is a lot more enjoyable. I got burned out on Oblivion gates when my current character closed all 60 of them.
