Just imagine how it will feel when you finally get your hands on it

I imagine it would feel like a small plastic box. It would be kind of hard, but the center would be springy if I push it. And the box would be covered in a smooth plastic covering with little bumpy bits where the stickers would be. It would way maybe 300 grams and wouldnt taste very nice.

Just imagine: It's been several years since the release of the last Elder Scrolls. But now the waiting's over. The day has actually arrived when TES:V is available for sale. Maybe you've queued at your local games store; maybe you pre-ordered from an online retailer. Either way, you now hold a brand new copy of TES:V in your hand. You remove the cellophane wrapper and make your first fingerprint on the case, the box art fuelling your imagination as to what the game may contain. With rising excitement you open it, pull out the booklet and inhale its just-printed chemical freshness. Finally, you remove the disk and insert it into your games machine of choice.

How downright awesome will it feel :mohawk:

Not to disturb the party but it's still a game, not your girl/guy friend. :P

Start screaming, while repetedly clicking on "go to checkout" on amazon
then sit for 2 days rocking back and forth watching the same review for it over and over
untill it arrives, then yelp with excitement when it arrives and play it for a few decades..

I love all the excitement for this game. So, when will people start crticizing the game and comparing it to Oblivion? I've read rumors of protests on these forums when a new Elder Scrolls game is released because it isn't a copy of the previous Elder Scrolls game. Is that true? Some of that is still floating around here, but how severe will it be when TES V first comes out?

I will still compare it to Morrowind (and Daggerfall) because those games exemplify what I look for in a TES game (and RPG games in general). Not because I want it to be a copy, but because I want it to expand upon those qualities which I like so much.

Oh, and I do what Singapore Joe said and put on my robe and wizards hat, because I'll be a mutha [censored] mage!

Well, I'd pre-order the game, first of all, as soon as I was able to.

I'd open up the game, take out the map, tape it to my wall over my computer. As it installed I'd read the manual, and when it was finally done I'd start up the menu screen, grinning. First things first, character creation. I'd probably be a Wood Elf (always been my starter character), and I'd choose generic Thief stats wanting to test out the new features of the game that I've been hearing so much about.

Actually, you know what I'd do, first thing? I'd just make a quick character, run in, and test things. If there's any form of free-running, I will free-run, hands down that'll be my first thing to do. If there's climbing/edge grabbing in any way/shape/form you can count on me to be one of the first people to post a screen-shot from on top of the tallest thing in the "starter area". Then, I will descend into the land of "Conversations", I'd want to see how they improved in that area. I'd do things like jump into the water and swim, throw stuff around to see how the physics are, practice using a sword/bow, learn a spell or two just for giggles, and finally, I'd attack a citizen/guard, it's practically an obsessive compulsive habit of mine. When I start something new, rather a mod, a new TES game, or when I get frustrated, I attack a guard. Then I'd go to jail, if there's the option, and look around for a while. I'd test to see if there were any ways I could do animations, I'd get out of jail and test the unique features that everybody in the forums has been talking about. And then I'd go to the main menu, and start a new character. No roleplaying on this one. Main Quest, Guild Quests, and a few side quests.

After I beat the game, I'd make a roleplaying character, and then the REAL fun will begin.

Today, I finally managed to haul my ass over to the local game retailer. It was a dreary, cloudy, foggy day - upon entering the store, the clerk jumped back to life, as though I was the first customer he had seen all day. Waving off his warm greeting, I immediately immersed myself in the aisles of the store, frantically searching for my goal.

There it was - The Elder Scrolls V! An elaborate display of it and its copies had been delicately placed up front, standing proudly, basking in the flourescent lighting of the place. I immediately felt a strong, almost instinctual lurch draw me towards it. I sifted through a few of the boxes, looking for one with as little wrinkling/worn corners as possible. Finding a prime candidate, I looked at the box in awe for a few moments, scanning over every bit of the artwork and reading the summaries several times over. I paid for the game and then quickly left.

I nearly crashed my car several times over, because during the ride home, I was absolutely entranced by the box, which glistened in the passenger seat on my way back. Upon getting home, I delicately removed the plastic wrap, knowing I would want to proudly display this box as though it were a trophy. It was late, and I figured I'd want to wait until tomorrow so that I could get in a consecutive 5+ hours of playing! I couldn't sleep that night - I read over the manual several times, carefully inspecting every bit of text and every screenshot, imagining what these things would look like in action.

Then the next day I immediately hopped out of my bed and installed the game. Then my computer exploded because it's horrendously out of date. "KHAAAAAAAN!" I shouted, before committing Sepuku with the razor-sharp corners of the game's packaging.

I will watch and read IGN's review of it

Aren't these one of the people who gave GTA4 the same raiting as Zelda OoT? I no longer trust game reviews.

But really, I think it'll feel like a mis-shapen styrophome pear. Or maybe a CD.

Gently lick the hole in the middle of the disk, and then push in and out with my middle finger while whispering "At last..."

I am NOT going to school for like a week after I get it. Seriously, what's the point of school when you have TES?

Whether it's more like Oblivion or Morrowind, it will still be awesome.

Although I do want it to be more like Morrowind. :P

Christ, dude, I opened this topic expecting some stupid post about an over-excited TES:V monger. Well, it kind of is, but the way you worded it was great. Heh.

Is bumping old threads not against the rules? This is like the 8th one he's bumped.

As for my thoughts, I'd feel pretty excited, but then sad because I won't be able to afford it until it's years old.

How does he even do it? This thread is 3 months old!

But when it does come out, and I get to Wal-Mart to purchase it, I probably wont be able to get in because the odds are that there's going to be a guard outside that got trampled by a mob, and S.W.A.T. will be there will shields and nightsticks, clubbing people and throwing tear gas, while trying to avoid the catapults filled with Molotov cocktails.

... There may be a couple of snipers involved, as well.

Possibly the military. Possibly.
