Just ordered the prima hardback guide

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 6:28 am

Never bought a game guide before. First playthrough will be blind but after that it will be sweet with a book to read when im not playing.

Getting a new rig and new desk aswell (allready got a new chair).

Getting ready for the best game ever.

A waste of money imo, but to each his own. You can get much more extensive info from wiki or even youtube vids, starting a few days after release.

I used to collect game guides, just because. Haven't bought one in a while though. Last game guide I got was for Soul Calibur 5 when it came out. Lost my Morrowind one :(

I will spend so much time infront of the screen it will be sweet with a book during my breaks. Also i like books and manuals like in the old days.

It was cheap imo.

I always read the game manual before firing up a new game! It's tradition for me lol.

Lol, I guess a game guide will be the closest you will get to having an actual instruction manual. I miss those old detailed, comic book manuals like back in the SNES days with games like Zelda, Kid Icarus, etc.

I can relate to your excitement and preparation for Fallout 4. I'm getting a 4K TV and a PS4 for Metal Gear Solid V and Fallout 4. Winter is coming!

I got one of those. I realize I don't need it but I got it for $20 on Amazon so it's not really "a waste of money imo"

Fact is some people enjoy buying collector stuff just to have it. I bought the anthology, art book, and pip boy. Might as well get this as well!

I love game guides.. I love books in general so I usually always grab a hard cover edition if one is available. They usually come with extra art stuffs in the back and I really enjoy that. For TES and Fallout they are also jam packed with additional info on people and places that you just don't learn from the actual game. And then there's the maps. .. I love maps.

Indeed, I like having a phsyical book I can flip through and read. In bed, on the toilet, whatevs...lol. It svcks having one sitting there until I beat the game, but it gives me more incentive for later playthroughs and is something to look forward to after I beat the game the first time.

I don't think I've ever used a book for the quests or story.. but I definitely use the maps my first time through. For instance, in Skyrim, I scanned and printed a copy of the hold maps. I use them to mark off places I've been. I also print out the pages that list things I might want to collect, like books, so I can mark those off as well. I always plan on doing everything I can in the first playthrough. But no matter how hard I try I always end up missing something.

Waste of money?

Probably.

But for a Bethesda game, I enjoy having the physical book.

I will hardly touch it during first play-through,

but it will be there in emergency.

In any case, most wikis will take a little time to populate.

It actually takes months for the wiki to get updated with all the info about the game.

I pre-ordered the Hardcover from Amazon. They said it had a release date of 11/10 so it might not be in stores until that date. Looking forward to browsing it while at work but I do kind of wish they'd release it a week or so before the game instead of same day.

Must not be in Canadian stores then. Searching pulls up nothing, aside from ordering from Amazon and all that.

I would try calling your local GS, however, managers there never seem to be in the loop. That or order from Amazon if you can they won't charge you till shipping.
