Just plain stupid and Idiotic.

Ok so my parents, and two other of my neighbors are getting sued by these people that own an easemant right next to our dirt road just because we won't help pay $5,000 EACH to get some culverts put in to make the easemant "better," when actually all the "work and improvements" they have done have on the easemant have made the road worse and in danger of flooding. They live about an hour and a half away and use their house on the road only for a summer getaway. Now I understand if THEY want to pay the money to make it better, but we only use like a foot of it to be able to get to our house. So why would each of us have to pay $5,000 to make their road better? And it is only a dirt road for heavens sake! The amount of money they already pooled into their project could've built a homeless shelter on our road and be able to feed people for about two months (my parents did the math). I mean seriously guys? Come one!

Have any of you had either some really unreasonable neighbors or just some situation that you have found no sense in?

My parents have told me that our lawyer is actually surprised because he has never had the law 100% on his side, but the neighbors still won't back down. growl.....

I live in a lake community. And 99% of the houses are only lived in during the spring, summer and fall. During the winter. It's peaceful. During the 3 other seasons everyone who doesn't live there year round comes by and acts like they own the place. They feel entitled to everything. They don't care about the people who live there year round. Hell, they throw beer cans in my yard then when I tell them about it they tell me to slag-off.

So yeah, I know how you feel.

The worst we get is their dogs coming onto our land and pooping, and then our stupid dogs try to go over the other side of the road and meet with the dogs.

Besides the folks across the street, we really have no neighbors. The joys of living in the country.

We're designing a church for a plot of land that is in an area which isn't developed yet, but might be developed in the next 25 years, so the county is making us install the sewer for where the hookup might be in a quarter century. And improve the road, and so on. We're losing so much money on sitework for things that might never matter.

I hear some stories from our customer service dept. about crazy/unreasonable/stupid people. Someone called recently to complain that his two garage doors were different colors and wanted us to replace one. He has been living in the house for six years... Really? Took you six years to catch that?

We live on a sizable isle and my home in the area is the only one with suitable docking for light skiffs and boats just a few hundred feet from the house, but its MINE lol we built it.. , now there are 7 other residences and a bridge that connects to the mainland, you go there and just a few blocks are the local docking area much more suitable for yatchs and local pleasure boats........tell me why everyone and their freaking Grandma is trying to dock right beside my house?

they have to nerve to call us selfish and unneighborly Im like :banghead: im pretty sure you wouldn't want your sleep interrupted at 3 am at night with the rumbling engines and screaming drunkards......god humans are such asses......

We have pretty good neighbours, but at my family's batch up the coast, there are about 3 or 4 residents and maybe 4 or 5 batches (holiday homes, kiwi style) which all share a communal driveway. Now, legally no-one owns the driveway, it's basically the Queen's property, but some smart cookie decided to dump a whole lot of gravel down on it and sent us a bill for $800. As in, one day out of the blue we got a bill for $800 and a note explaining that as users for this driveway we should have to help pay for the bill. Everyone down the driveway was asked to pay $800, not just us. But the thing is, this is loose gravel, on a highly uneven road, prone to sever flood. There is NO POINT spending such an ungodly amount of money on something that won't even last one year.

Plus, everyone in my family owns a 4X4 except me but I drive a ute anyway so not our bloody problem!! :P

I walk a certain grass road that has actually formed by people walking over the grass in that particular direction since it′s a huge shortcut over walking along the roads, but the path to it lead through a gap between two rows of bushes and every now and then drunk people would walk that path and be loud. Now when I say every now and then I mean like max 10 times a year, I sleep on the 3rd floor just above the path that the drunk people go so I pretty much notice if there is any racket down there or not, so it′s not that often. So some of the neighbors decided it was prudent to build a fence so the drunk people would go walk at the other side of the bushes but not the way they used to go. And all at the same time they blocked the path a lot of people, mostly my age going to catch the bus, go every morning. That′s slowing down tens of people every day so that they can divert about 8 - 10 drunks from that path.

Most just jump over the fence or go through the bushes now but it makes no sense to punish those that go that way for a good purpose 365 days a year, so that they can punish random drunks 10 times a year. I′ve found out that those in charge of the decision also all happen to have a car so they don′t have to walk that way but it should be evident enough that there is a patch that goes a good 10 CM deep into the ground because of people walking there, almost like in cartoons where a character may walk in circles enough times to wear and tear the ground under them burrowing themselves lower, except here we are talking about in real life with many people and a straight path.

I drew a picture to explain this better. It all looks small on the picture because I′m a bad artist but it′s far bigger than you′d think, the "house" is actually a block with over 60 apartments, and if you figure each apartment to have an average family of 4 then that′s over 240 people in total that inhabit the building. About half of those are young people or people who don′t have a car, and most of them have to go that path, so that′s a good 120 people a day that walk there, you could say it goes up to 240 since they go the same way back of course.

Here is a link to the picture, I recommend speeding up the replay time. Did it in art pad since I was just hurrying it.

nope. altough one of my neighbors is a lawyer, he keeps his lawn real nice and always avoid walking my dogs near it because I don't wan them ruining this guys lawn. I don' think he can really go after me if they do mess on his lawn, but there is somethin intimidating about very successful attornies

Last year my neighbor's party tent air lifted and landed in my back yard during a storm.

He came by the next morning...

"Have you seem my tent?"

"This it?"

"Uh-huh..."

utterly trashed, and I'm not even trying to hide this -->

Nine in the morning, but I gave him a beer anyway... he needed it :)

Back home, my neighbors were the opposite. We constantly fixed the gravel road, but they and their kids would speed down the road at like 35 mph and it would cause potholes to form and throw the gravel out and eventually it would be back to dirt... and we would just fix it. They just didn't care for others property though, they had goats that would get into our yard every day and eat or plants. We had a fence and gate but in the mornings it would be open and they would come in. They have a fence and gate too but are too lazy to take an extra 15 seconds to get out of the car and close the gate. Just annoying neighbors in general.

My neighbours are pretty ridiculous. The chick next door loves bassy music and plays it alll the time. I've even woken up to it sometimes and just kind of laughed. Her boyfriend though, yeesh, the guy hates me I swear. EVERYTIME i put music on and there's just a little thump barely even noticeable he just pounds on my wall ( I live in townhouses, big ones to :D). Guys really a pain in the ass

Funny thing is when he's not there, the music is blaring and all I can hear is thumping on the wall. Do I knock? No, I just smile, laugh a bit and blare mine. :D

I do live in the country. It's the people that live in the city that come and try to take over the land like we are some kind of backwoods hicks that don't know anything about the law and think they can take advantage of us. The people that helped them work on it don't even like them because they are from the city, and they yell at all the workers if they didn't do something right.

Reading this thread makes me feel pretty darn lucky! The worst I have to contend with is a yappy dog next door that someimes gets over-excited at 2am.

That's easy to take care of! Out in the country we have the three S words. Shoot Shovel and Shut up! Problem is solved.

ya seriously. They are just grown up elementary school kids that lied to the teacher about not getting a turn on the swing set.

I live in an apartment building. The neighbours across from me are GROTESQUELY overweight, and their dog DOESN'T SHUT UP. I want to sprinkle chocolate chips outside their door so the dog eats them.

The neighbour to the right of me [who also happens to be just a wall between her and my bedroom] is a teen mother who gets into screaming matches with one of three guys about 4 times a week, usually at 2-4am.

The neighbour who lives to the left is, I am not sure. I'v seen at any given time 2-8 people go in and out at once. I can't tell if it's a bunch of people living their or what. But they crank the bass up on their music all day.

The people above me have a [censored] cat that makes TONNES of noise chasing some ball across tile floors, and it sounds like it's jumping up and down.

The people below me are growing pot, and at any given time, my fans svck in the smell of pot. So my apartment smells like pot rather often.

I'd kill these people if I knew i'd get away with it.

Once my dog escaped our back yard and tried to eat our neighbor's poodle, so they are generally afraid of our dog. But other than that, no incidents have occurred with our neighbors.
