Just a quick plea for the setting of Elder Scrolls VI

Post » Tue Dec 06, 2011 5:54 pm

What -I- want that will never, ever happen is...

*Drumroll*

Elder Scrolls VI: Tamriel.

Yeah, I know. Bethesda isn't that ambitious.. but Jesus tapdancin' Christ that would be awesome. I'd buy three copies of that!

It's called Elder Scrolls I: Arena.

It may be Black Marsh, but the "main protagonist" will be a human or elf, for marketing reasons.

Wait what?

There never has been a main protagonist that was race specific (not counting Redguard ) so why would there be now?

I'm talking about advertising, such as the Nord Warrior for Skyrim.

If they plan on making a game in one of the beast provinces, they should just go all out and set it in Akavir.

That doesn't really count. I mean Tamriel in full, lush modern graphics with every major city accounted for and detailed as much as the cities in Skyrim. Yeah, never going to happen, but that would be one of my wishes if I ever get a genie or monkey paw.

My dream game is called Morrowind II. A true sequel to Morrowind.

If anyone at Bethesda happens to read this and you guys aren't completely past the planning phase yet... please consider setting the game in Black Marsh, or at least Elsweyr. I could go on and on but I'll keep it short.

Morrowind was amazing because Vvardenfell was such a unique and alien setting that fantasy gamers hadn't seen before. Barren harsh landscape, dust everywhere, giant mushrooms, multiple moons, drab color palette somehow strangely beautiful, locals hate you. Huge success, and to please all the casual fans that were gained Oblivion was pretty much just a generic medieval times setting in Cyrodiil. Loved the game, that's not my point. Skyrim is a more interesting setting, but it's still just kind of fantasy Braveheart (Game of Thrones?) style we've seen before.

You have these two incredibly unique beast races in your games/lore (we've seen Orcs in a million games) and I think it would be a good idea to make them the focal point of the next game. Black Marsh borders Morrowind and Cyrodiil, perfect for tying in storylines. Please give us a dark, dirty, gritty, swampy Argonian game. I realize Black Marsh is pretty isolated and there wouldn't be a lot of diversity there as far as other races, but that would be cool. Back to Morrowind style where the local population hates you and doesn't want you there.

I would also settle for bounding through Elsweyr with my clan of Khajiit on the backs of giant feral cat mounts. You've pleased regular high fantasy fans the past two games, now use your unique beast races to please the hardcoe fans while surprising casual fans by giving them something they didn't know they wanted.
