Anyone else notice when the giant first appears it says 'Press A to talk'. Uhmmm, Since when where you ever able to interact with anything other then the basic races without it being part of a quest? Almost never. Makes me wonder tho, What kind of conversations could you have with Giants, Or anything else for that matter. Could you win their disposition just like any other race? Could you then turn on civil humanity and live with the giants?! I'd thing diversity like that would be amazing.
