I just saw the most beautiful thing

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 6:28 am

I'm on a quest for the companions, and I'm climbing over a mountain as a shortcut. Its dark out. I come to the edge of the mountain, standing on a tall peak. Off in the distance I see a huge line of mountains extending as far as I could see, with clouds slowing floating over the top. Then this beautiful aurora borealis forms, and it's this amazing vibrant blue with a bit of purple mixed in.

Holy [censored].
I sat there for a good ten minutes just staring at the scene before me in awe.
This game is beautiful.

The auroras are awesome, I never get tired of them and each time they are a different colour.

Dude
I agree man. So beautiful. I was hopping along mountain sides all day yesterday, just looking down over rivers and such.
So great

Haha when this post was loading I was thinking of mentioning that as the "most beautiful thing" I had seen :)

I've only seen it once. Last night when I was playing I was out near Winterhold, in the awesomely bleak and isolated snow-and-ice-lands, it got near night time and I was hoping I'd catch it again...but I didn't :( Thought that'd be a good place for it.

So often though I've though "Wow man", just looking off into the distance over rivers and lakes, forests, ice sheets... Can't do it in real life so this is the closest thing!

Yay Skyrim :tes:

Been really enjoying Skyrim+mead too :D

This made me finally sign up to the forum after nosying around for ages:

I was on my travels, it's dark, I'm in the middle of nowhere and I see about three of those glowfly things. That looked pretty amazing on its own so I watched them for a few seconds. Then I saw a moth like thing come flying over, mistaking the glowfly for a moon I think; it started hovering all around it following it everywhere it went. Incredible work Bethesda.

The amount of detail put into this game is simply amazing. Ever look at a random tree stump? Sometimes you'll see ants crawling all over it.

The auroras are amazing, and so well done. I am pretty sure almost everyone who has seen them while exploring or walking somewhere has been awestruck at least once.
