Uhh...I'm going to answer what I think you're asking.

You "make light" by bringing out a torch. You can select it if you have one in your inventory.

How you drop items varies depending on if you're playing PC, 360, or PS3. For PC, you shift-click on the item.

You don't repair items in Oblivion like you do in FONV. You just select a Repair Hammer from your inventory and use those on an item if it is damaged.

Well, to make light, you have to either use a torch (you should find a couple during the tutorial) or a Light spell, which can be bought from various NPC's around the different Mages Guilds, and you start with a Light spell of you have chosen Illusion as a major skill.

To drop items refer to the button labelled "drop" in the inventory.

EDIT: Ninja'd! And all the time I spent on honing my ninja-skills has been in vain...

You'll find torches and repair hammers later on. You don't start with them. There should be a few of each in the tutorial dungeon.

To drop items in Oblivion, you hold shift and left click on the item.

And yeah, there's no point in carrying around a bunch of the same items. You use repair hammers to repair them.

I should also mention that if you were hoping for a very similar experience to Fallout, you're not really gonna get it. Oblivion's a pretty different game.

During the tutorial if you look in containers you will find touches and little be later before you catch up to the emperor you will find hammers. Unlike in Fallout you need more then one of the same thing to fix a item, in Oblivion you use a repair hammer to fix you armour, shields and weapons. Hummers don't last long. If you want to drop your stuff all you have to do in your item menu shift and left click on the item. If you to use your touch, click on your touch and you have light.

Only reason to carry more of one item is to sell the other, at least in the beginning, later you might keep extras for enchanting.
The touch work nice for making light, equip one and a sword and shield, now if you put away your weapon F on pc your take out your touch. F again bring out your weapon.

Carry Looooooooo~ts of repair hammers and lock picks.

And as many torches as you can because torches:

a) burn out after awhile
B) weigh 0.0 kilos
