Just wanted to take the time to say, thanks!

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:48 am

I just wanted to take a moment and express how I feel, and to say thanks for making the best game ive ever played in my life... its been YEARS since ive put the
hours into a game!! (most games lose my interests) Seriously though, you guys put some TRUE magic in the program!

Ive been playing games for over 30+ years (DAMN im getting old) From Swords & Serpents (first RPG type) on the Intellivision to Skyrim on the PC.

Once again your company raised the bar, exceeding all of my expectations (and I had HUGE expectations!)

Ive had fond memories with all your games... first being Daggerfall then Morrowind then came Oblivion and have been dazzled by them all.

Skyrim is groundbreaking and im 100% glad I purchased 2 580 GTX running this @ 2560X1600 just for this game in its breath taking glory, well worth every penny!

Again, thank you for you obvious passion, skill and creativity.

They definitely deserve praise, it's a great game, although i do have my fair share of things that aggravate me about it. I'd still rate the game a 9.2 if I had to. Modding will definitely make the game into a 10/10 though I wish it shipped as such. it's very close to being the penultimate paradigm of the modern RPG genre.

It's nice to see that there are actually people on this forum that give Bethesda the praise they deserve for their amazing games.

Not just crticise them for all their bugs etc.

Holy Hell! A thread of praise before my eyes! Amazing! and i thought all hope was lost on the internets! I'm right with you Op! This game needs more praise then all these rinse and repeat threads full of whining little kids or whoever they may be. I also thank you Bethseda for bringing my fantasy to life once again in the world of Tamriel! Stellar game! This game makes me proud to have lived during this moment in time.

Have to agree with the OP. Not sure yet if it is "the best game I've played in my life", but it is easily top ten. It could very well end up being in the top 3. I am 35 hours in, and feel like I've just scratched the surface. Haven't even seen a dragon or touched the main quest yet either. My biggest worries (the combat feel) were completely unfounded. It still occasionally feels like you don't connect, but overall there are nice effects, staggers, physics, and sound effects that really make the combat exciting imo. Archery is amazing as well. I also am in love with the sound, music, visuals (for the most part), crafting, characters, guilds, envrionments, enemy types, ambient creatures, variety of gameplay, and just about everything else.

I only have like 3 or four small issues with the game. Having a PS3, I'm a little worried about the save size lag bug, but it has yet to rear its ugly head. Other than that there are little issues with the engine that carried over from Oblivion like the repeating ground textures and ugly intermediate textures, but nothing that would even remotely harm my impression of the game. Also, as much as I enjoy the music, it doesn't impress me like Oblivions did. I seem to remember like 2 dozen specific songs from OB, while I seem to only hear 2-3 ambient songs in Skyrim, and they just don't have the same awe inspiring feel. (anyone know if more music comes as you explore other areas? Not sure if the songs are tied to location, level, or if there really are only a couple different ambient songs.

Enough petty complaints though, this game is amazing! Just want to say thanks to everyone involved in making the game, and let them know that their efforts are greatly appreciated! After 5 years of waiting, I didn't think that the game could live up to my hype, but it far exceeded it. Thank you!!! Now I'm off to go waste another day in Skyrim!

Well said, I agree with you. This is the best game I've played, since oblivion. Most games dont appear to have the 'love' that is put into this series.

I was thinking about opening a thread with the same topic. Luckily I spotted this one. The game has flaws, like all games out there, nonetheless, it is one of most enthralling games I have ever played.
Thank you Bethesda! :celebration:

I'm in love with Skyrim.

There are few bits and pieces that could be fixed, but aside from that.. Skyrim is AMAZING.

This game is so full of win it's not even funny. I started playing games in the 70s when PONG first came out I think this is possibly the best game I have ever played.

Bethesda really out did themselves. Is it perfect? Of course not but what game is?

I'm almost 40 hours in and have only discovered 4 cities. And Ive only done the quests in one. This game is freaking huge.

Thank you Bethesda.

After a full day of 'Skyrimming' I felt like coming to the boards and creating something like this topic.

You already did it for me/us so I′ll just hop on the band-wagon and praise the game here!

I just did an AWESOME(!) questline, which started from a random book I found in a lighthouse at the northern coast. Took me like 4 hours, made me do everything I possibly could come up with to complete (I play on master difficulty) and in the end, rewarded me with some über-lewt. The loot wasnt the point though, because the whole questline (it was classified as "miscellaneous" btw) was pure joy from beginning to end, and after doing it, I realized it was exactly the type of gaming I had been hoping for from a game for years on end.

So, long story short, thank you!

To the OP, I agree, it's brilliant. Thanks doesn't seem to do justice to the experience!

For £35 I have had around. 25 hours of immense fun and I suspect I have lots more to come. I take the family to the pics, for a two hour movie, it costs more than that. Well played Bethesda, money well spent.

It's refreshing to see a thread that isn't complaining about something. I agree, this game truly is a masterpiece, even though there are some bugs here and there, the good far outweighs the bad. Every dollar I spent on this game was well worth it. :celebration:

I couldn't get into Oblivion. I was hoping this game would fix the things that saw me give that game up.

OMG......did they ever deliver. I can't walk 100 paces without having to stop and exclaim "they have got to be kidding me". There is so much to see and do in Skyrim that I didn't get off it all weekend. It even took over my World of Tanks game time. The couple of times I proved that I was Dragon Born actually gave me goose bumps.

Now, I have seen threads that say the dragons are too easy, graphics are not good (BEWILDERING AS THIS IS!) etc etc. I am here to say, these people need to get a life. This game has a few bugs, but for christ sake, Please continue, my good sir. and just play this gorgeous, big adventure and try to have fun.

Thank you Bethesda.

Yeah should be far more threads like this instead of the flood of pickies that feel the need to pick on everything from the way it looks to the way it makes them feel. This game is a Masterpiece, all the reviewers agree and a large majority of gamers agree too! Played all the TES games going back to Arena so I too am a long time gamer and I am certain that Skyrim is the best, this is after 50 hours playing.

Btw OP you have too much money if you can afford that rig to play Skyrim, once you have a wife, family of your own and commitments all those days dissapear :(

Hehehe...I've already done my fair share of complaining about bugs and have barely gotten farther than my fist jaunt into Whiterun.
However, this game is amazing. It wouldn't be right if I didn't give some well-deserved praise. I think Bethesda is a 'victim of their own success,' in creating such awesome games. They stand on their tiptoes to raise the bar only to have to then jump over it...

:goodjob: :goodjob: Kudos Bethesda!!!

You are very right down to the last word. I played Oblivion on and off for many years thanks to the great mods that fixed this game. I cannot wait to see what the creative minds will think of next.

I love these threads and there are a lot of them too. I'm happily adding my "me too" to this one. I couldn't be having a better time when I play. One thing that always tickles me is when Lydia uses the Reanimation Staff I gave her and I keep seeing blue-tinged creatures and bandits fighting for us. She's really good with it and I didn't expect it to be used when I had her carry it.

Skyrim's a great game.

While I do see some streamlining, as that's what's happening to the industry as a whole; I see a lot of things that I love about TES still very present.
