Is it just me or was it hard to read?

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 6:44 am

Maybe because there was not any werewolf or vampire info in it but I was able to read and watch everything before this one, and the battle one was the one I really wanted to see besides werewolf/vampire info.

I couldn't even get past the first page of it, hell couldn't even finish little more than half and that was skipping some areas.
Anyone else have this issue with this last one?
I am thinking as well is that because I every update I am hoping for the info I am seeking or something AMAZING and fun to read and idk, I just didn't get this from this one :(

Discuss? :flamethrower:

It could be that most of the combat update was just telling us what we already knew from the GI magazine.

What the hell do you expect? Fireworks flying off of the page?

Its just like any other text - you are only interested in reading it if you like the material. I'm guessing you might like action games more than RPG's if battles are the only thing you're interested in, because RPG's sure don't put their main focus on combat.

Vampire/werewolves are the least of my concerns. Too twilight. The combat info was sweet. How can someone not like that?

All I want is a concept art with a werewolf and I will throw a party.

EDIT: I could care less about combat. I already know its good.

Dude. I'm guessing since you joined the forums yesterday the first game in the series you played was Oblivion. Werewolves and vampires have been in the games for a long, long time.

Don't even get me started on how "Twilight" they are, as they have only been part of occult mythology for oh, several thousand years. Grow up.

We don't mention that here pn the forums unless refering to the Daedric creature, the "Winged" Twilight.

Of course not, that would just be silly :P

I only brought up combat because it was the main focus of that update -__- I happen to love RPGS, I would play RPGS far more then Action games if they had good ones like TES come out ever few months -____- hell I just got Two Worlds 2 today (bad move imho, for many reasons) because it is a RPG, I normally don't do that but was hoping it would help me on the wait for Skyrim

Like I said I only read HALF of the first page or was that hard to understand???
Werewolves and vampires were not made from Twicrap so why does everyone keep on bringing it up every time werewolves and vampires are brought up/? Why not bring up TES Lore on vamps and werewolves or why not bring up Underworld lore or any other lore like old stuff??!!

This. I love the information, didn't find it boring at all... and if I were so concerned about werewolves or vampires I'd play a game centered exclusively on them; not try to live out those fantasies in a game where they are only briefly featured.

Not only are they long time veterans of TES, they're a staple to my play style since I first laid my hands on Daggerfall.

Yea, but which free-roaming medieval fantasy game has werewolves or vampires? For the PS3? None.

I'm extremely grateful for all the info we've been getting on the game. I've been going out of my way to learn as much about the game (how it plays, not the story) as possible, and I'd be a little annoyed if tomorrow we get an update that's only about werewolves or vampires. The combat stuff is great, and it's much bigger and more important part of the game then just werewolves. I'd much rather know all I can about important game mechanics long before I see a screenshot of a Vampire or something.

Uhh...Greek mythology, Celtic mythology, Asian mythologies. This includes both men transforming into beasts (wolves in the case of Europe, tigers in Asia, Lions in Africa) and the dead coming back to steal the "essence" of the living. Skinwalkers in Native American cultures, berserkers in Scandinavia.

Lycanthropy: The word has also been linked to Lycaon, a king of Arcadia who, according to Ovid's Metamorphoses, was turned into a ravenous wolf in retribution for attempting to serve human flesh (his own son) to visiting Zeus in an attempt to disprove the god's divinity.

http://themovieblog.com/2010/02/twilight-fan-rips-universal-the-wolfman-is-a-cheap-twilight-ripoff <_< Seriously. Even my 5 year old sister has seen the original Universal Studios Wolfman and Dracula. And she loves them I might add. Though, Frankenstein is her favorite. Anyway, that's getting off topic.

Edit* I'm aware universal did not create werewolves and vampires either. I'm just saying they are part of pop culture. Even if you never saw those films you have seen how they looked. Hell, ask any kid how to kill a werewolf? Silver bullet. Ask them to talk like Dracula? They will impersonate Bella Lugosi. If you have never heard of them before twilight you apparently lived in a bubble

No, it wasn't hard for me to read. Maybe it's because we basically new all of that already?

I have a bone to pick with the GI article too, the writer said, "For instance, the sword perk increases your chances of landing a critical strike, the axe perk punishes enemies with residual bleeding damage after each blow, and the mace perk ignores armor on your enemies to land more powerful strikes."

Notice the definite article in that sentence? It's either simplistic and incompetent game design (I pray it isn't so) or simplistic and incompetent writing and editing.

I'm pretty sure that Vampires will be in Skyrim. It's been a fixture in the Elder Scrolls for the last two games. Werewolfs is a different story that decision is up to Bethesda. If they have room and can explain in Lore as to why Werewolfs inhabit Skyrim then sure go for it.

It's been said in other games that Skyrim has the most lycanthropes of any province, including werewolves, and even more commonly, were bears. To leave them out with be like leaving out Nords (as far as monsters are concerned)
