Just when I thought I can game worry free.

Post » Thu Mar 31, 2011 8:28 am

I almost thought for a sec that the anti-cheat measures were starting to work, until the cheaters walked in.
I was actually surprised to have a game where nobody was cheating and I was having lots of fun, it was very relaxing. Then the aimbots came.

I just got this game recently and I paid for my game like a lot of other people online here. But dang! Seriously!? Some games I get in have up to 4 or 5 guys cheating in them and it svcks big time! That's why I was so relieved to get into a normal game, but it didn't last long.

Seriously, the cheating is rampant and I don't get the logic behind it. Yeah, you get the high scores and the big advantage, but some of us have normal lives, friends and a job. I just want to enjoy the game and pretend I'm some nanosuit altered superman.

Man, when I say it's bad in this game, I mean it's BAD!!

Something needs to be done, pronto!

Yeah, I bought it today and I really would enjoy it if it werent for the hackers :(
I just want to play the game normal against normal players.... Makes me regret I didnt get it for consoles... Hackers is the ones destroying PC gaming....
Dont blame the consoles just because they're harder to hack...

If there's anyone kind enough with a PW protected server with people who arent mad pro's either that would like to invite me, I would be thrilled.

The cheating is not rampant. I play at least one hour of MP every day, I rarely encounter cheaters. Your statement is not realistic.

I encounter cheaters all the time, especially this last hour. They are so easy to spot with the killcam, the aim just bumps from one to another in ms's . . .

It is easy to spot them, yes. But I think that their numbers are overblown.

AT the end of the day, the only way - THE ONLY WAY - to combat a hacker is to either give admin rights to server owners OR give votekick ability for the players. We have neither.

Any anti-hack measure involving codes and programming isn't organic enough to keep up with human intelligence - and there are plenty of smart people out there who have no qualms developing hacks to make money off it.

But you would expect the company who developed one of the best AI seen in games 2-3 years ago to know this don't you? Oh wait it's Crysis 2 now.

I ran into my first set of cheaters today, needless to say, it wasn't pleasant. Ah well, if you can't win you gotta cheat I suppose. I hope crysis gets some proper anti cheating software so we can be rid of these pricks.

Usually when they are spotted people start to herass them, and they go away.

It baffles my that Crytek wont implement votekick. Its infuriating to see someone is cheating and owning everyone and you cant do anything and ppl just leave the server.

Votekick might be abused but its better to kick one person wrongfully than 11 players leaving the server frustrated

Haven't seen any aimbotters yet, plenty of cloack/ammo hackers though.

But in the 30ish hours I've played online I mighth ave encountered like 5/6.
Still a lot but not as drastic as the entire server filled scenario.

You can be blind and live in fantasy land all you want, but this game is and has a name that attracts a lot of people, especially those type of people with the whole technical showcase the first Crysis was.

I was just relieved that they actually got ahold of themselves and made something that can actually run on my computer. Now I just can't enjoy the multiplayer fully. This game needs administration and some type of management badly!

I also have the same problem Jim has and, even though I don't really care about it, my ratio is also very messed up as well.

Yes and no.

We all know it won't stop at just one person.
They just need to sweep the first 10 or so pages of the leaderboard ranks, easiest way to spot quite a few cheaters. :P

Quote from someone who has played 5 hours a day since release.

EDIT: Actually its probably closer to 7 hours a day.

Because hes almost grinded his way up to the second Reboot. Its pretty funny he goes on about how bad Crytek are, etc when hes probably literally played more than anyone else.

I disagree. If a player tries to cheat and not just **** around very apparently, spotting them might be harder in C2 over any other game.

Leave server, go to new one.

Still cheaters? Repeat until there aren't any.

You know, the funny thing is I haven't actually seem a aimboter yet. 99.999999999% of the claims are the kinds of claims you get in every PC game, from noobs who can't handle someone being better then them. I've been claimed to be a hacker, and seem people on both sides claimed to be hacking when very obviously they aren't.

I've seen possibly 2 hackers, both infinite cloak hacks. And 2 others that were a little suspicious. That's it. Unless the USA is magically filled with more hackers then the EU, I doubt that most people you claim are hacking really are.

No, it's leave server, forfeit all your progress & match stats and have it count as a loss, repeat and lose more progress.
That doesn't fix it and get it straight

I've come across at least one cheater every session I play. I usually play anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour, at least 3x a week. And I have never stopped playing because I was done. Always because someone was cheating and I've decided to play another game. Most of them are perma-cloak morons. I have encountered some subtle tweakers though, but still obviously cheating if you have an eye for it.

Vote to kick would be the easiest solution to this. With the killcam it is SO easy to see when someone is cheating, because most of them are stupid about it.
