Kajhiit or Orc?

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:34 pm

Khajiit in my opinion. Don't get me wrong Orks look sixy as hell(though I would never play one). But the Khajiit just looks so... Cool.

This is what I think as well!

Most definitely the orsimer. They weren't bad in MW, but....the odd shaped and very wide head made things not so good for them.

Remember, this is most IMPROVED, not which is better. There is a difference! Though, I still would have picked orsimer for which looks better :P

Both have greatly improved, but that orc is way to badass not to vote for.

Orc. They both look great, and they are both a big improvment, but i just hated the orcs from oblivion so much....

I think the Orc looks really good in comparison to those old Oblivion models; the faces were much too round.

I like the Kajhiit a lot as well. It looks very good.

Overall though I think the most improved is the Orc.

They're both very nicely done, but the Khajiit is so cool I may actually play a beast race for the first time.

They both look beautiful, and I personally think the Khajiit looks better. I'm quite happy with the results; Khajiits are my favorite TES race.

However, I think the Orcs show the bigger improvement from their appearance in Oblivion. Both have made great strides, certainly. I am quite happy with the coarser, more bestial look in the Khajiit screenshot. But while good-looking Orcs were possible in Oblivion - witness the results achieved by the Tamriel NPCs Reborn mod - unmodified NPC Orcs looked fugly to the last man.

Now, that said, if I see a greater diversity in Khajiit appearances, I might just have to reverse my decision. That was really what I found must disturbing about the Khajiit creation process; there was a very narrow range of parameters that "looked right" to me, and many things that should have been changeable (body fur markings, for example) simply weren't, and never got added in afterward by modders.

I'd say that both are improvements, but if I had to choose one, I'd say the orc is the bigger improvement, because honestly, I think orcs were the ones that needed most improvement. I know I've talked a lot about making the Khajiit less human-like, but the parts where I really wanted Khajiit to be better than Oblivion were the parts that can't be seen in the screenshot, like the legs. Bethesda had more or less the right idea with the Khajiit faces, I felt, all the problems with the model are ones I attribute to the general lack of good quality face models Oblivion suffers from rather than the design, and while I have no complaints on the Khajiit, the improvements in that regard I see are mostly the sort I'd already expect to see given the improvements in the quality of human faces. The orc on the other hand definitely look a lot better than their Oblivion counterparts, not just in the quality of the model, but the look of the design it actually seems to be depicting as well, I'd say that Bethesda pretty much got orcs right if the screenshot is anything to go by.

Though if I had to say which I like better, I'd still go with the Khajiit, because I still like Khajiit somewhat more than orcs.

Now I'm hoping our next batch of screenshots has an Argonian in it.

I always role an imperial, nord, or breton (call me lame), but I might have to make one of every race for Skyrim if the character artists continue to put out as quality of races as they've been doing. Best looking khajiit and orc I've seen in TES. Can't wait to see the elves and argonians.

Orc was super BA and khajiit was in the same boat. I simply can't decide which is better.

I voted for Khajiit. I think this Orc looks good but I loved Oblivion's Orcs.

They both look amazing, but the Khajiit is who I think looks best of the two races.

Just my opinion of course, but seeing the Khajiit has made me want to play a beast race for the first time, and I am seriously considering making my first character one!

I don't really see that big of a difference in the Khajiit honestly. Maybe I'd need to see a few more to really acknowledge it, but I've seen Oblivion Khajiit that look pretty similar.

The Orc, on the other hand, is a huge improvement, and pretty much exactly what I wanted Orcs to look like. I am very pleased, and will definitely make an Orc character at some point in Skyrim. I'm curious to see what female Orcs look like though.

looking at the male orc in the pic i have no doubt the female one is just seated near to the musician in 1:30 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjqsYzBrP-M

One cool think to me about the khajiit is that on some parts I cant tell what is natural fur and what is armor, and I also like that even with the helmet or whatever it is wearing it's ears arent covered/gone.

Both. I naturally don't care for Orcs at all so the Khajiit definitely appeals to me more though.

You have a point here. The Khajiit's looks great, but the changes to the Orc's is nothing short of miraculous.

Because seriously, turning http://64.19.142.13/www.kotaku.com/images/2006/04/1145592572_mazoga_001_.jpg into http://pcmedia.ign.com/pc/image/article/116/1162158/the-elder-scrolls-v-skyrim-20110415033053299.jpg is no mean feat.

I liked the Orc better, but maybe that's just because the Khajiit's face is so low res and the lighting in that screen is so ... odd.

The khajiits in oblivion were horrid. Their facial structures were more akin to rats rather than cats. The eyes look faaaaaaaaaaaar improved, and I hope there's more than one eye set we can pick for khajiits now. But I'm still iffy on the facial structure.

The orc looks greats.

really, both have greatly improved in their detail and facial structure since oblivion, for 1 the khajit head is extremely cat like and now it even has wiskers. the orc face is nolonger a soccerball and generally actually looks like he will rip a man in half with his bare hands. in essence the orc is actually orky this time but not WAR or WoW orky, more LOTR as you can see the elvish traits.

I'm not sure if they had this before, but you know what would be like, amazing for kajhiits? Fur color.
