I'm glad you enjoyed it. One of my voice actors does work for Rockstar games, so it was fun for us to have this little inside joke.

I absolutely LOVE the covers for the chapters! Great work!

Thanks! I do things like that that make sure that the project holds my interest until the end.

Looks amazing.

Thanks! I hope my work inspires people to play, as well as to mod. We'll see... I'm just doing something that's what I wanted to see in a mod, so hopefully people will enjoy experiencing it.

My emotion to your comment:

I hope that releasing it in chapters with teasers like this will help players get invested in the story and world over time, letting some of the mysteries simmer for a bit, and have a feeling of EPIC-ness when its all done... rather than making people wait a year or two and having them finish playing it in a week or two. And by emphasizing that the releases are "chapters" rather than updates to a beta, people can feel comfortable playing it right away without thinking they have "wait until it's done." Each chapter, aside from a few bug-fixes if needed, will be "done" when released. When they're all released, of course, i can release it all as one compiled .esp file, but for now, this should be fun.

NOTES ON REQUIRED MODS/ CONFLICTS/ PATCHES
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I have an idea for concerns about compatibility with the two required clothing mods. Out of respect for the creators, I certainly don't want to delete their stores. Nor do I want to require people to have all of the clothing stores in their game if they conflict with other mods. So, my proposal is that I create a patch that simply takes the exterior locations of Gothic Attire Complete and Clothiers of Vvardenfell and places them in a new interior easter-egg location that would be similar to the "modtown" mods that used to come out. So, that way, the work of the original modders will be preserved instead of being deleted, and I will not need to actually edit the required mods. People are welcome to edit the mods and/or keening for personal use, but as a modder working on required mods, I feel I have an obligation to expand rather than reduce when it comes to someone else's work.

As for concerns raised about Morrowind Comes alive adding NPCs all around that have no purpose? Keening started off as Morrowind Comes Alive Expanded, and part of my plans for KN10: Keening Integrated will add new levels of interaction with the MCA characters - companions as well as random NPCs. The new MCA engine for generating random objects and faces is being heavily integrated into the character creation. Meanwhile, the new races, the new undead, and the new 6th house content included in MCA are all planned to be prominently featured in various chapters. So, any patches to change MCA in any way would prevent Keening from reaching its potential, though if someone edited their MCA to remove the placement of the NPCs in vvardenfell, it would only prevent them from playing the final chapter of Keening. So, to each their own on that one, but I plan to make it worth your while.

Westl'y Master Head Pack and Creatures will not need to be activated, and if someone doesn't want to use better bodies, I don't even know what to say about that. Most people who know about it use it, so I'm not worried about that.

Well, dang. You thought of something that really makes people want the mod then instead of, "IT AIN'T DONE, F IT" FTW

I don't care if a mod is incomplete or not. If it's epic, this one included, I'm having it somehow!

Thanks! I've made some more progress fixing things up and progressing some of the quests, and the books have been written, stuff like that. I'm working on the trees right now so that they don't have to depend on replacers... though somehow I doubt you'll be testing it in vanilla Morrowind. ;) The tree replacers that I have listed, i just found out, are totally different than what I have installed. So, I'm trying to sort all that out - forgive the trees if they seem misplaced, because I can't even tell you what trees I see in my CS right now. The final version of Keening will have fixed tree types, thanks to permissions from Vurt.

With permission from Vurt, all of the Keening trees have been replaced with new objects made from his trees. So, we no longer have to worry about floating trees if people still use vanilla trees, nor will people be asked to download certain tree replacers in order to see Keening properly. It's all neatly packaged up in a way that will not interfere with people's Vvardenfell trees. This is good that I looked into this, because the trees I was pointing people to download were the wrong trees. So - to the 3 or 4 playtesters - sorry about that.

I've switched over to a new user name because I'm going to be releasing Keening under my real name, so I don't want there to be any confusion. Superkitten.net is my t-shirt website.... it's got nothing to do with Morrowind. :/

I have a few new sceenshots for this evening....

LOCATIONS - Trees by Vurt now are included exactly as seen as part of Keening and do not rely on replacers.
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/keeningminelands.jpg - Part of the development for Chapter 2
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/keeningpassage.jpg - A Lazmer bridge that connects the City side to the wild side.
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/badlands.jpg (Work in progress for Chapter 4: Underground, which makes use of Neo's Undead in MCA 6)
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/portsunder-night.jpg - Lazmer Towers rising above the "poor side of town"
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/keeningruins.jpg - The only unexplored Dwemer Ruin on the island - the interior is half underwater and sideways to match the exterior.
Some fun http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/lazmerfortress.jpg, whose creators will remain locked in mystery until chapter 8

MISC - Retextures and other stuff
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/keeningstone.jpg custom-designed by silver_fox_rival for Keening
Modified Creature: http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/muroid.jpg - a small retexture of a hand-sized rat, with a different Ai, new sounds, and a unique quest that revolves around them.
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/mouseguar.jpg. Tiny and Cute. Love. <3
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/keeningtapestry2.jpg with plates by Qarl. Propaganda, or Celebrity Worship?
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/screens/scrnapr18/artemisblade.jpg - I'm in the final steps before release where I go back and find my new magic items and make them look unique.

Sorry for the shots with the low-rez water - I was playing with MGE and forgot to turn the better water back on. >_<

:thanks: - Thanks for looking!

Oh, good - ! Hehe, I was worried I was posting too many screenshots. But, I'm using my own webshosting for the pics now, so the links won't glitch like a bunch that I posted a few pages back.

Holy Crow - That's an amazing thing for a new modder like myself to read! :thanks:
Hopefully people won't think that chapter 1 falls short of high expectations. Knowing that there are 9 more chapters coming after it will help with that, I think.

Oh, wait - I think you misunderstood. I pay Dreamhost.com for my webhosting... which is why I try to make sure I say "my webhosting" rather than "my server." I own five domain names and all five websites are hosted on the same webhosting plan. So, anyways, I all I mean is that I am FTP-ing my images into a directory on one of my wesbites. I'll PM you a list of all my websites if you like, but I'm guessing that's not what you were asking for.

Now, on the other hand, I'm going to host the actual files that you download for Keening on gtagaming.com, which was founded by my best friend who conveniently also does video game voice acting for a living - but you'll have to click the download on Keening's home at http://www.automatichamster.com/. I won't be hosting Keening's downloads at PES or TESNexus. The http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/ is going to have way too much content on it for me to want to have people bypass it, and I want instant access to the files so I can update or remove them at will.

As far as providing homes for modders at automatichamster.com and hosting other mods through gtagaming.com, I'm not opposed to the idea, though it's not currently on my agenda.

------------------------------------------------

Oh, and for those that missed it in the other thread, the Keening website now has a graphical, fully-linked http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/topten.shtml for new players page. I created this page for people who get wind of Keening and want to try it out, but haven't played Morrowind in a while or ever. This way, no one gets stuck running around in Vanilla Morrowind when they play Keening unless they like it that way - which, in that case, they probably wouldn't like the massively-modded feel of Keening anyway, with its modern clothes, hair, faces, and trees.

You mean that literally?

Erm... as in literally the only unexplored Dwemer ruin on the island, or literally sunk half underwater and sideways? Yes to both. I built the interior like a regular Dwemer ruin, turned the whole thing sideways, added water raised halfway up, and then added muck and kelp and vines, along with broken ladders you can climb, waterfall leaks, and upside-down furniture that's fallen to what is now the bottom. Screenshots don't do it justice - the first part of it will be part of a quest in chapter 1 - I *think* it's there in the version that I gave you, though I'm sure I changed it since. The Architect excavated and tore down the exteriors of the other Dwemer ruins and built the city on top of it while keeping the underground parts accessible through trap doors in many of the buildings. They colonized it - that part is going to be expanded in Chapter 4 - Underground. Right now most of the hatches to the underground are locked.

Clearly that's the work of tiny Guar.

You got me. Mouse Guar is the Dark Lord equivalent. ;)

I cannot wait to get in there. I love kooky interiors. You should see the ones I'm doing for Crafthold. They're going to drive people insane.

I expect to fight a whole ton of Mouse Guar that combine into one huge Super Guar, like Devastator. :P

This looks well planned out, and you've obviously put a lot of work into it. The screenshots look good. It looks lore friendly, and appears to have an actual plot.

There are a lot of good mod projects, and I'm not trying to put them down. But everything about your mod looks great, and the first release should be out soon which means I can actually look forward to playing it soon.

To give a sneak peek of what I have planned for the website, here are some of the images from the character/ location walkthroughs. Half of Keening Chapter One's quests occur before you even find Keening City... so there are locations where I've added characters or structures to lead into the Main Quest, which gives you access to the City.

http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/walkthrough/KN_walk_1-watchers.jpg - Featuring A Watcher
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/walkthrough/KN_walk_2-artemis.jpg- Featuring Artemis Pleasius, an imperial guard on sabbattical to find a missing person
http://www.automatichamster.com/keening/walkthrough/KN_walk_3-noisyshack.jpg - A Suspicious family of bosmers right outside Khuul. They'd like you to get off their land.

I'll have more location shots on the website in Ald Velothi, Fort Frostmoth Docks, and Hirstaang Forest.

I'm very happy to have signed on Jocelyn Baxter to co-plot aspects of Keening, research Lore, write new books, and play-test. She's a professional playtester with a passion for Morrowind, for creating, and for researching. Check her out:http://sizigyy.blogspot.com/2012/04/bones-of-earth.html
