Keep dying...

hey guys, I've finally started Morrowind properly but the one issue I keep facing is that I can't fight for the life of me. Right now I'm doing a random quest helping an Argonian find a Red Guard but whenever it comes to the end of that situation and a fight occurs, I get killed very easily. Can anyone advise as to getting good at this game?

Kill every rat and mudcrab on the island. Go to Vivec sewers where there are plenty of rats.
What race are you playing? If you are a High Elf you need a tank in front.

Boost strength every time for a while till your HP's get higher.
Don't battle with low fatigue.

Try to hide and snipe it if you are good with a bow.

What level are you?

I'm not sure about the details of your situation, but I can offer up a few pieces of advice.

I always like to frequent the guild vendors to stock up on health potions. The best way to make money for that is to go dungeon diving, and a few easy ones exist around Seyda Neen. If they are too difficult for you, here is what you do:

Venture out into the wilderness and pick up anything that is not nailed to the ground. Ingredients, animal meat, and pearls down on the riverbed will provide a good amount of money for you. Killing the low level creatures while you explore will help to increase your skills. Also make notes on your map whenever you find a dungeon you want to revisit later.

Afterwards you'll want to buy yourself a full set of armor, unless you are using unarmored. Next, you should check all the weapon shops in any town for enchanted weapons. One that can paralyze your opponent will really help you out.

Lastly, always check the Temples and Forts for enchanted rings and necklaces. They are always pretty cheap, and have extremely useful enchantments like healing.

In Morrowind, you have to start at the bottom and work your way up. You may not be able to complete any dungeon until you're level 5, but you can make a good living selling Mudcrab meat and local flora. Before you know it, you'll be ready to complete that quest.
