Since there is no changing name of settler or seeing what they are assigned to, one way thay may help a little is dressing the settlers according to their job...

For example all my sellers wear suits and bowler hats...

My farmers slacks and militia hats...

etc etc...

Would be nice to have a list of settlers showing what they're doing. Let us pick a newcomer from the list directly and assign work. Much easier than going around looking for slackers on couches and chairs. But in the meantime I'm definitely stealing your idea of giving them clothes as per their jobs!

All my settlers with jobs wear dresses..male/female/goul..don't matter
