Ken Rolston's awesome Todd impersonation

Post » Sun Jun 19, 2011 9:36 am

Actually, I think Ken Rolston left at the perfect time. He knew the way TES was headed and wanted no parts of it.

Just my opinion, but an opinion I'm going to stand by.

Sure.
You're entitled to your opinion.
I'm just wondering.

What's your take on this interview?

"When you kill something big, something good's gotta come out of it"

THIS is what TES Lacks.

And reading these words made me think about killing a dragon, absorbing his soul and having another piece of a dragon shout. Hmmm...seems big to me. Maybe Ken just didn't know what's in Skyrim back when he made that interview.

And I find plenty of depth in Oblivion...one only needs to look. There are places that make me cry...shallow stories don't do that.

Just my humble opinion. :)

I really wish people would stop writing in purple so I have to highlight their post to even be able to read it :/
Please, do it for me, find a different colour that isnt so close to black?
Pretty please?

I wish we could just put them on ignore lists so we wouldn't have to see their posts.

I have no problems with the interview. I'm actually going to look the game up and see what it's about. Maybe it's time I start to expand my RPG experience beyond TES.

I didn't get the impression Ken was having a go at Todd, just saying his different perspective meant he sometimes saw things differently which improved the games

For example on Todd criticising the animations Ken said his eventual reaction was,
yeh, I see what you mean, thats better, lets do that

On Todd,
he says no you got to have a cool thing, can't argue with that, you take a look at the demo, those cool things you just do those little silly giggles ... thats what I want, I want those silly giggles

Got to admit, I did smile when he started impersonating Todd. You can't doubt Ken Rolston's passion for what he does, and he did deliver with some brilliant stuff with Morrowind but there is something of a little hint of resentment against Todd there.

On Todd,

He was saying both of those things sarcastically.

To make something good you simply MUST have bitter side of personality

I just listened to the whole thing. You guys are clueless, he is talking about Todd McFarland, their art director. Now listen to it again, in context.
