No CD-Key?

Post » Sat May 09, 2015 4:32 am

I bought a copy of the Fallout: New Vegas CD from a pawn shop, and it didn't come with a cd key paper/booklet. I have looked online to try to resolve this issue, but nothing pops up. I have the CD itself, but not a CD key. Is there any way I can resolve this without having to buy another copy?

Return it for your money back if you can. New Vegas automatically links its CD key to a STEAM account when activated. Whoever sold the pawn shop that CD was a jerk- once registered on STEAM, the disk is little more than a fancy beer coaster and absolutely worthless to anyone else. The game can be loaded an infinite amount of times from STEAM once its registered.

That's what I was initially trying to avoid, but I guess that's my only choice. Thank you! Have a good night.

You need the CD key that came with the game to play it. Unfortunately, buying it second-hand gets you nothing.

There is no legal way to get around that, so the thread will be closed.

Wait for a Steam sale, and you can probably get it for pretty cheap.
