Khajiit racial abilities are just AWFUL

Post » Mon Dec 01, 2014 8:17 pm

I mean seriously. They get a +11 boost to unarmed. Great, for the about 5 brawls you'll ever do in the game. Without unarmed being viable, that's just useless. They get night eye, which doesn't make it brighter at all, cranks up the contrast and makes it HARDER to see in the dark. They get no resistances or passive bonuses either. Perhaps they could get a resist to poison (they live in jungles and deserts), a night eye that actually works, and something like the Voice of the mane to give them once a day buffs (Like frenzy, maybe?)

So how do you guys think other racials for the the other races should be improved?

I've played every Race many times, and Night Eye is the only racial ability I ever use regularly.

I always forget about 1-per-day buffs because they don't seem all that special or useful.

oh god the [censored] night eye works fantastically I don't know what the op is talking about it lights up wonderfully I can see 20/20 in dark areas god I wish this was a spell so My sneak characters wouldn't need to give themselves away with torches or candlelight one of the most usefull racial abilitys in skyrim!!

I like their abilities. Night eye is great for being outdoors at night. Easier to detect movement.

But Khajiits are the one race that make unarmed much more possible!

You see, the Khajiit is the race that allows you to become a pro-wrestler badass that uses fists against steel. Which is just badass for a kitty.

And Night Eye is pretty useful in my opinion, especially given that it's not a limited dayly power, so you can use it whenever you want. (If I'm not mistaking atleast.)

Night Eye is great. The only problem is there aren't a whole lot of dark places around where it can really shine. At least without modding.

Claws is really good as well. Sure, there isn't an unarmed skill line to take advantage of, but http://i.imgur.com/JzTsX.png.

All racial abilities become completely irrelevant after about level 5 anyway, Khajiit's are no different.

I would tend to think the night eye would prove to be most useful, even at later levels.

You can use alteration or a torch to see in the dark so night eye really isn't all that useful once you have other means to do the same.

I exclusively create Imperial characters for vampires. They start the game as a stage 4 vampire and play the entire time at that stage. The VoE gets used on a regular basis.

Nite Eye is only granted by being a Cat or a Vamp. With the vanilla game, it is far less useful as the nights and dungeons are aren't much different than the daytime.

Night eye is also cost-free and doesn't take up one hand. Why go with other methods when you have a built in, toggle-able means to see in the dark? IMO Night Eye>Torches and Candlelight.

Except that torches burn out and give away your position if you're trying to be sneaky.

I like night eye, and the unarmed bonus that goes well with claws. Now if they had special kill-cams for those kitty claws, that would be better, yet.

I like the Orcs' ability as well--berserker rage. A little odd that it's not a Nordic ability, since real-life Nords were the inspiration for that particular ability, but ah well--more things I'd fix if I were on PC.

Exactly why I've only used it as a Vampire.

I really liked the khajiit the claws they had were nice especialy when you would do a execution with your bear fists馃憡 I used to put on the "gloves of the puigilist " and my unarmed attack really got deadly I could kill GIANTS with my bear fists 馃槅.

How does that relate at all to its usefulness at later levels?

Welllllll

I was talking about how Night Eye would be much more useful than any other alternatives if you have it. If you don't play a Khajiit or vampire it's completely irrelevant since you wouldn't have it to begin with.

The night eye was not really useful only in falmer caves I found out that 90% of the time I was not using the night eye power.

Me too. But I mostly use VotE for calming down guards I attacked by accident. And for Night Eye? Pfft. http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/22274 is where it's at. Well, assuming I don't use the regular Vampire's Sight.

PV is yet another amazing mod by Gopher. My vamps are hated by everyone... all the time. VoE is good towards NPCs to level 99. (90?) Unless you are very strong in Illusion and mind your leveling, you can easily reach a level limit on the effectiveness of the spells from that school. VoE is good for all of it and you start with it out of the gate.

Likely you have not configured your display correctly for gaming. Quite often for PC's the display is set for generic use which is too bright for a lot of games.. My vanilla lighting of the game at default settings gets quite dark at night and in a lot of caves/dungeons.
