Khajiit Respect?

So when do you think Khajiits will finally get some respect?

When I played TES 1 & 2 the Khajiits were basically just very agile humans with little to distinguish them from the other human races. Then came TES 3, and they were basically slaves in Morrowind. Very few free Khajiits and comments about turning them into clothing weren’t unheard of. TES 4 was better to the Khajiits as some actually ran a business in the Imperial City, but still there were places there Khajiits were not welcome or treated as a second-hand race. Then comes TES 5, and it’s almost like a step backwards for the Khajiits. Again comments about making clothing out of them, the traders not being allowed in the cities, etc.

So it leaves me wondering, when will Khajiits ever get any real respect again in the TES universe. I can only imagine it would happen if TES 6 takes place in Elsweyr … maybe Vallenwood or Black Marsh. To be honest I’m trying to imagine what it would be like playing a human race in Elsweyr. How many people would actually want to do this? Are they just a joke race never to be taken seriously?
