Khajiit Screenshot

I hope for the return of digitigrade legs, but from the screenshot I think he's just bending his legs.

http://uesp.net/wiki/File:Redguard-SRathra.gif from Redguard remains my favorite Khajiit design thus far, so I'm certainly hoping that the Khajiit in Skyrim will be nice and "fuzzy" as well. To me, the Khajiit should look cuddly and huggable - not like some kind of depraved leopard-painted human actor from Cats. I know that some people may hold the opposite view, but so long as Bethesda's sticking with the more bestial Khajiit subspecies I think it'd make more sense.

This thing looks like it could be my nightmare for the following weeks. I can't befriend with your huggable Khajiit. They should be a race that can be taken serious, not a bunch of teddy bears.

Convenient that the screen doesn't show the tail.

I also noticed this and commented it in another thread. If it is his fur, that its great attention to detail. If its not, oh well.

I actually think it is the fur layering over the armour, one it matches his fur, which is really coincidental if it were to be just "Fur Armour" besides, Fur Armour is supposed to be "Furry" Not metal with random un-useful fur sticking out. Also as Gizmo's picture perfectly shows the "fur" goes behind the metal chest piece, thus showing that it isn't part of the armour, but actually part of the Khajiit. Also it may be that they have made separate meshes for each armour to accustom each race, well more than likely the beast races.

That would be extremely uncomfortable if that was his fur, I would think. It's the armor.

I agree it would be nice if the armor accommodates the tails of the beast races but I doubt it will.

In response to The Tribal, I hated the Morrowind legs too. I don't want the feet to be spray painted human feet like in Oblivion, but I certainly don't want to see deformed Morrowind legs. I understand people want them, but I can't get over that they aren't structurally sound for a bipedal being.

They Khajiit are native to a very warm climate. Just because they have fur doesn't mean they never feel cold. Many house cats for example like to stay inside most of the time in the Winter in places that have cold Winters, and during colder months many cats love laying near heat vents and such, and zoo cats love heated rocks, etc.

I know, I own one. They also curl up in a ball to stay warm, None of which would work without their fur.

Didn't they say some armor was race based?

All birds are bipedal and are also digitigrade. Also, the legs don't have to be realistic, just believable. I mean, I see where you are coming from but plantigrade feet on a beast race just look so wrong to me, it makes them look like people with a stuck on animal head and tail.

Without being ironic, I'd have to say that it's good to see a Khajiit that's more "manly" than some of the past examples. This would be in keeping with the Khajiit warriors portrayed in the novel "The Infernal City". The headband is new also but I think it works.

I wonder if the fur over the armor is a clipping issue or if it's just that the fur is sticking through a lorica segmentata kind of armor (not that I'm knowledgeable about armor, I would add). http://ancientarmour.com/Lorica%20segmentata.jpg

I would be nice if there was beast specific armors, it does look like a perfect fit for him.

i think i heard in an interveiw (no link sorry :/) that each race has their own armor thats specifically for them.

Edit: each of the 10 races have special armor, on top of the armor every species can wear

Good news is that the khajiit is based more on the Morrowind version.

Look for yourself:

It's not based on the Morrowind version, Some people just grasping for straws for something to be like Morrowind in any way. It's just a different type of cat in Skyrim compared to Morrowind's version and Oblivion's version.

I think that its almost certainly fur coming up through the armor.

I believe the fur is part of the armor. If you look, the fur is a different color from the fur of the Khajiit and you can see the fur on the armor covering the fur on the Khajiit's arm.

Meh, if anything they are a little bit of both. Besides, there are several features that are more Oblivion's than Morrowind's If anything, it's more of a blend between the two (plus that isn't the actual Morrowind model of a Khajiit shown.) because the Skyrim one has pointy ears like the Oblivion version and Morrowind has droopy ears and so on.

I don't even know why anyone would want to compare them. What's the point because they are nothing alike. I'm talking about the facial structure. It's more like the Morrowind Khajiit.

Brand new Khajit screenshot. Looks like Oblivion, but has some bone structure from Morrowind, and I believe the ears are somewhat of a mix beetween Arena and Daggerfall, though muscular disposition is akin to Oblivion, while fur pattern relates to that of Morrowind, while paw design resembles Arena's. The armor, on the other hand, is quite reminiscent of beta screenshots from Daggerfall, though I don't believe we'll see it in-game, though I'm not sure about the fur in it belonging to the armor itself of the Khajit, the latter possibility and making it somewhat closer to Morrowind artwork, though the lack of in-game armor would denote a clear resemblance to Daggerfall, even though the eyes are closer to the Oblivion rendition.

o u.

I'd actually like a leg design like the ones in Daggerfall. They weren't just recolored human legs, but they weren't freaky stilt legs.

I don't really know that I'm looking for anything specific in armors, but I would like to see Khajiits and Argonians have different tail animations. Cats are expressive with their tails, lashing them around when fighting, twitching just the tip while stalking, arching when surprised. Lizards are much more laconic; the only time I've seen a reptile do much with its tail was when it was using its tail muscles to help kill something (e.g., crocodile doing a death roll). I'd like to see that kind of thing reflected in the animations.

I'd love to see that.. Adds to the races uniqueness if implemented, it also gives the tails some animation and not just a static rod out of the butt of a poor Khajiit or Argonian.

Id say its part of his body like a mane or something, armor with fur like that is just silly considering he has plenty of his own. @ Asterai i would love for my tail to get fluffy during fighting and hissing while my PC bares his/her teeth.

Regardless, I still hope they work on that face.

Not a fan. Personally, I loved Morrowind's Khajiit faces. Never did change them.

I highly highly doubt the legs are bent like Morrowind's khajiits. You cant tell from the angle but I seriously doubt it,it was weird then and its weird now so I hope not.
