Kids and crap....

from what i see its 68% but still yeah no

The whole community hasn't voted yet. Its only been two minutes.

Why do these polls keep showing up. You know that Romance can go one of two ways. Restrictive Bioware, or way to bland Fable. Either choice is bad.
In case you hadn't notice Bioware had the worst most unrealistic Romances ever(I guess it depends on your character).
And Fable had no Romance, just a Sims like family system.
Romance itself is to complex and will be trivialized in a game.
Eidt welp its been more than 2 minutes.

Kids... no.
Crap... Not even Duke Nukem would try that one. :chaos:

... Wait... I'm wrong. That was his 'finishing move' in Duke3D Atomic. Yes, he really made good on his threat, and did just what he said he'd do ~do.

This would be interesting, could train my son to grab my beer... could possibly use him to pick up a few lusty argonians etc...
Would be cool until those awkward teen years hit him.

No. I really did not like kids in Fallout. Though it doesn't make much sense, having nothing but advlts and no kids, making it impossible to reproduce, I prefer they keep it like in the other games.

It's already confirmed there's children in the game, whether you like it or not. But they'll probably be like in Fallout 3, just NPCs who are there that you can interact with, I doubt you'd be able to have them yourself, and I wouldn't want to anyway. I'm really not interested in raising a family in Skyrim, if I want to do that, I'll go play the Sims, and really, the Dragonborn doesn't have time to care for a child while saving the world. Now, I know, there's options and all that, but if you did actually have a child, taking care of it would pretty much take up all the time you could spend doing other things, and really not be much fun, and while the Elder Scrolls makes options a key selling point, being FUN is a key selling point of any game, the Elder Scrolls included, if you can't have fun playing a game, then it's really not worth bothering with it. And really, I highly doubt anyone is going to put enough time in the game for children to be able to show any significant growth if their development is even remotely realistic, usually for me, playthroughs last for several in-game months, being able to put one in-game year into a character would already be pretty unusual, if having children were possible, there's a good chance that you'd stop playing a character before the child is even born.

So yes, I have absolutely no desire to be able to have children in game. Children existing in the game adds an extra level of realism, but I really don't see being able to have them myself adding anything. I'd much rather Betheda focus on options that WOULD add something meaningful, such as having more than one option in quests.

Kids in the game?

Yeah, I'm cool.

But I swear if one of them steals my gold...

i would think it'd be cool. but it should be a quick thing. most of us would be playing for a while so lets say. your wife gets pregnant. after a week for playin gor sho she shuld have the baby. it should take anohter week for the average player to get it ot be a kid. another wek for teenage. than very young advlt (20) should be a constant stage. he should not get any older than that. he can assist u or she but they cant die. u culd just leave ur family at home. there is not special relationship stuff to work out like in fable. u can totally neglect ur family and they wont care.

Children in the game? Yes.

Make a kid? No.

Adopt an orphan and use him as your meatshi- squire? Priceless...

Do you actually understand that the time span the game covers is sooo much shorter than the one needed to raise a kid?

I voted yes, only because I want a Orc/Dunmer kid. When you talk about having kids with such vastly different races. You have to include mixed races. Since as an Orc I could just [censored] whoever I wanted.

They already did. Your kid would look like their mother. The Grey Prince is an example.

As far as children NPCs: Sure.

Having our own kids?: No.

Unless they can sort my Lootz while I'm out saving the world.
Then yes.

I wouldn't mind romance options however I think children takes it too far into the "life simulator" direction. Time doesn't pass that quickly in TES games.

There were kids in Daggerfall and maybe Arena (never played much arena)

Though not having kids. More just the presence of kids.

Kids are immortal.

Giving them a weapon and letting them fight for you is OP.

Kids won't be killable, so you can be pretty sure they won't be able to fight either.

Also time in TES passes really slow, so you'd have to adopt a kid if you'd want to have one that can actually do anything.
