I find it somewhat disturbing that most if not all discussions or topics evolve around mindless slaughter...

I hope so. I don't want my Orc to get bored hunting in the same ten vampire dungeons and dragons. He's going to need plenty of giants and mammoths to hunt. Trolls will do, as well. Maybe even goblins, if Skyrim has become infested with them.

Except that they didn't stay "dead"....

Wildlife (including the giants) will respawn.

That is completely false, wildlife and nameless npcs totally respawn in all three of those games, just as they will in Skyrim.

The Elder Scrolls series is a hybrid action/RPG. I think it comes with the territory. ;)

 I think you've misunderstood what he meant by respawn. Basically it means that after you kill a giant it will be replaced later on by another giant. This is true with almost every creature, guards etc.. in Skyrim, Oblivion and Fallout

Yes yes i know it's a game that has alot 'o action, and the fact that "humans" are very good and preoccupied with control/killing and so on but...to me the fun is about RP and i never really indulge in mindless slaying unless i can somehow justify it or it is part of a quest in order to proceed forward!

Never understood the "obsession" so many have with the Dark Brotherhood eithers so, i know there must be something wrong with me! :talk:

A part of my orc's background is he was enslaved by giants. He is going to have an intense hatred for them. Once he is able to, he is gonna kill every giant he comes across. He's no dummy after all. :tes:

Well I for one and curious as to how the giants manufacture their clothing and weapons. Do they make them themselves? Do they live in caves or in forrests? If so, what are their living conditions like? Are the nomadic and follow the game(animal herds) where it goes or do they settle in one area and live off of what that particular region provides?

I'm betting most of those questions won't be explained in TESV when it comes out. BGS seems to focus just on battle related stuff (whether it be fighting/magic/stealth) and not so much on economics, crafts, arts, languages, politics, relationships, etc...

I hope there's a sort of settlement run by neutral giants, so you can get quests for them and be friendly (which should pay off later), or you could just go in and slaughter everyone.

Whats to stop the player jumping on the roof of a nearby farmhouse and spamming the giant with bowshots?

I would not mind having all that in the game, sounds like something worthwhile to find out! :)
