Kill Cams are killing me!...literally...

Post » Sun Dec 22, 2013 4:53 am

On my new playthrough, I dual wield destruction magic as a long range advantage against my enemies. Almost every time I shoot a firebolt or an icespike at my enemy, it shows the kill cam, but the enemies are still at half health! :ooo: It's extremely irritating because in that time the kill cam is playing, I can't move or do anything to avoid getting an arrow by a bandit or a skeleton or whatever it is, you name it.

Just yesterday I was fighting a Bandit Thug (who on level 11 are still pretty hard on legendary), and decided to go with icespike, so I began to shoot him from a far. He took out his bow and I was praying that I wouldn't get another dreaded "kill" cam. Luckely, the first couple shots I took at him were just fine, and I was able to avoid the first couple arrows, but then the kill cam started playing, and I wasn't able to move as he shot an arrow at me. He nearly killed me (I was able to restore my health by running in circles to avoid his shots).

Anyone experience this and know how to solve this issue? It's really getting on my nerves :swear:

PC or console? If on PC, there's probably a mod that disables kill cams.

I also predict this topic will be an Ethetan-magnet, where he won't be able to resist reminding us yet again (with a copy-pasted post we've all read before, nonetheless!) of his hatred of kill cams...

just keep moving while casting your spells and maybe the killcams won't trigger.

I'm on Xbox

I have a feeling that might actually work. I'll give it a shot :)

In my experience, it won't stop the killcams. I've died to a mudcrab I was trying to fry, because I ran out of magicka during the killcam which interrupted my constant moving to remain out of range.

It happens more often against archer, using long range spells, but it's still rare enough that I wouldn't disable the whole thing with a mod.

You're right. I just tried it against a deer, and it showed the kill cam, even though I was moving :\

(over 1,000 hours of Skyrim on Xbox)

Never been hurt, or killed during any Kill cam of my own, because it ONLY toggles when you attack the last enemy alive.

Really? I've had it happen lots of times when there are three or four people on screen.

It's still really glitchy on the hardest difficulties with destruction magic. Quite often the kill cams aren't even kill shots.

Kill cams are supposed to be working whilst the last enemy is alive, I believe. I've had plenty of killcams, while a Draugr is also creeping up from behind.

Never got killed by one, but they tend to become annoying. Boot to chin, strike with blade, anyone?

I only have problems with killcams that decide to "hang", making you stand there like a statue...Free archery practice for Bandits/Deathlords.

I remeber when I went to a bandit camp at a low level and was killed in a kill cam by the bandit chief while i had 100% health. He had a orcish warhammer >_>

The first thing i did when starting on pc was disable enemy killcams

Welcome to Skyrim. Where killcams kill you and disregard the fact you can fight back.
