If I kill Graham or Follows Chalk at the beginning of HH....

Post » Sat May 04, 2013 10:58 pm

I've beaten it twice already, now I'm playing an eeeeeeevil character. If I kill one of them right off the bat, can I just leave then and all of the rewards are in the trunk? Joshua Graham might be the coolest character in the game, but this DLC bores me to tears.

If you do that, it will start chaos in zion. Which i think requires you to just get the map and then you could leave. I believe thats how that quest works. Not sure as i haven't done it yet.

I'm pretty sure you can't get the trunk if you do Chaos in Zion rather than the MQ. Doesn't make sense, it'd let players potentially end up with two Joshua Graham's Armors and/or two ALSiD.

From a dev standpoint, it doesn't really make sense.

This is all speculation though, can't find the answer you want on the wiki and I've never done Chaos in Zion before.

Yeah there will be no trunk at the end. But just grab ALISD and Graham's armor off his corpse. And remember to grab the survivialist rifle and desert ranger armor before leaving.

I'm gonna kill them both in the cave you meet Graham in and loot them. I don't understand why the trunk wouldn't still be there though. It's not like it's logical why all those weapons and clothes/armor are in there if you do the intended quest path anyways.

On an extremely awesome note, the wiki says the White Legs will stay forever like this. Infinite epic guns and shootouts! I think I may make my first home there bc of this.

Yea i think i will do chaos in zion when i get around to it with my current character. I didnt really care for daniel. But i will say one religious quote to him before he gets his head blasted off

"Cursed be the ground for our sake. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for us. For out of the ground we were taken, for the dust we are... and to the dust we shall return"

The reason the trunk is placed at the end of Honest Hearts in the first place, is because you helped Joshua and Daniel, and the other tribes achieve success over the White Legs. Since you are going in there and killing them, why would they leave you a trunk of goodies?

But please make Daniel suffer extra long. I hate that guy with a passion. He needs to be taken down a peg or two.

There really isnt much reward anyway. Alisd, survivalist rifle is really only worth it for me. Im not to crazy about the armors, but i know some people like it. Now off to plot daniels death. The many choices. Bullet to the head? Decapitation by machete? Fire bombed? Shady sands shuffle? Push him off a cliff? Or the mental anguish of watching me exterminate his beloved sorrows?

Well, I must say.....it is pretty satisfying as an evil character! I snagged the Survivalist Rifle before dealing with Joshua Graham. I love how Joshua was all like, "You WON'T leave Zion unless you help us." And I was all like, "BOOOOM!" Medicine Stick to the dome piece!!! When I killed him Follows Chalk fast traveled somewhere. I then ran straight for the map and shot White Legs, cazadores, and geckos on the way.

I was surprised to see Walking Cloud running straight at me and she was tougher than I expected. Next was Daniel shooting his 45 SMG. and he exploded with a headshot lol. I looted all the main characters' stuff. I was also able to grab tribal clothes/ armor, a yao gui gauntlet, a 45 pistol, a 45 SMG, and a war club. I finished the whole thing in probably an hour. I plan to go back for combat with all 3 tribes, and to get the compliance regulator and desert ranger armor.

I think the only items I couldn't get choosing this route were Follows Chalk's hat, She's Embrace, Daniel's Scripture, and Salt Upon Wounds' helmet and power fist. I'm fine with that. This was fun!

Killing the infamous "burned man" is far more satisfying than the boring quest line ever will be.

The Canaanites and Tribals left the box as a gift for you. They're not gonna leave it if you kill them.

The only thing you'll miss out on is Salt-upon-Wound's Power fist and mask.

That's awesome that you can just skip the DLC like that. I think that's what im gonna do on my next evil playthough. Like the OP, that DLC just bores me to death, definitely the worst of the DLCs. (hell even the gun runners arsenal is better then honest hearts).

I was thinking of killing graham last time I was doing the DLC, but I thought maybe it would make him essential or something until the quest was complete. Gotta love obsidian and their no essential characters.

The best way to play Chaos in Zion, and the most satisfying for me, is to initially play along and then use intimidation on Daniel to give you the map until he attacks you. That way you get a little more length out of it and it flows more naturally. Honest Hearts was near my favorite, but I do think it had more potential in terms of content. Awesome setting.
