Okey so Im serously pissed at this.
The Jarl want me to kill this leader.

But ive Cleared this place three times now!! Doesnt complete!
Where is the leader??

Im so sick of this I wanna use the console to get this Q done. But how??
When I use Clearvoyance it just says "no active quest".


How do I complete this crap? Ive googled for like 30 minutes now to no avail.

The leader has the quest arrow over his head, and is a forsworn briar heart. He is outside at the top right of the redoubt right next to the Sundered Towers location. You should tag quest in the menu then you wont get lost and your spell would work. It wont do anything unless you actually select a quest.

I have the Q tagged and there is NO q marker anywhere.

Maybe you killed him before and he has not respawned yet?
That would explain the no quest marker.

I cant find him! Sundered Towers isnt even near Deepwood redoubt? I dont get it. Please where is he?

And no he should have respawned it was long time ago i cleared it...... And I might have killed him a long time ago way before I even got the Q.
Does that mean I cant complete it?

Could it be that the cave exits to an outside area you cannot get to unless you go through the cave?
There are a number of those.

its more likely a bug...i have several quests that have bugged in this manner where they are no longer track-able and i cant turn them in even tho i have completed them or have the quest item. however theres going to be a bug patch after thanksgiving so here's hoping.

Yea it leads to an outside area that leads to Hags Hold but ive cleared all that three times!

Sundered towers is right next to the end of the redoubt. Ive done this quest 4 times with respawns as it comes around again as part of the bounty quests in Markath. Its not just the cave, its the outside section as well which leads up to the leader's throne which is directly beside the Sundered Towers. And when you tag it in the quest log, you have to both tag the misc. menu AND the quest itself inside the menu before it will be tagged properly.

He should be at hags hold, according to the UESP.

Best move on with a new quest and hope it gets patched.

But first I would like to find this leader and see what happens when i kill him.

Your directions doesnt help me at all.
Deepwood Redoubt is waaay north of Sundered Towers.
And when you enter Deepwood Redoubt you proceed east, into Hags End. Not south down to Sundered Towers.
Please give me PROPER directions.

And if he is in hags end, why does it say "kill the leader of deepwood redoubt" and not "kill the leader of hags end" as it is two seperate locations on the map, with two seperate "Cleared"-mechanics.

I suspect neither of you really know where he is - . -

It's a radiant story generated quest and not always in the same location - hence people having different experiences and information regarding where he is. The leader is supposed to spawn when the quest is accepted. I was also sent to a place I had already cleared out; he was there when I went back. If he's not there and there's no quest marker then it sounds like it somehow failed to spawn him when the quest was accepted. That very very rarely happens - which is why people were presuming you just missed him or didn't tag the quest properly.

Are you on PC or console? On the PC there may be a way to fix it using developer console codes. If you're on the 360 or PS3 I'd suggest reloading from right before you took the quest; always be sure to create manual saves every so often in an open world game - particularly a Bethesda one.

I cant reload to a save back before I got the Q - that would mean i lose too much progress :/ I picked it up long time ago..
Im on PC and Ive tried different console commands
like "setstage Favor151 15" but that completes another "kill the leader of..." i got.
And thats not bugged, i have a marker for that so no need to cheat on that.

I have googled my ass of for "kill the leader of deepwood redoubt" but nothing comes up, so I dont find the proper codes to finish it using console.

you can search for quests using the console as well. I'll take a look myself in a few minutes but the way you do this is type:

help "a phrase in quotation marks" 0

0 will return all results, 1,2,3, and 4 return different filtered results.

EDIT: Ok I think I found it. The quest is 0006c824. I found it by searching "favor" as this is one of the Jarl favor quests. I'm not sure what the completed stage is (you can try 15). You could also try

completeallobjectives 0006c824
completequest 0006c824

Typing help quest 1 will list a bunch of other commands for quests. Save before trying any of those though and also try setting it to stage 15 first. If that's not the quest - then type:

help favor 4

There is one other markarth favor quest (favor 250 I believe) that it could be.
