I feel like the armor mode is just right. If it were any stronger, it would be a Halo overshield, which would not be any good IMO. You do have to play tactical and manage your suit well, but I like the mix. I've gotten pretty fast moving between suit modes as the situation dictates. The demo was the reason I had slept on this game. It felt to Halo-esque to me, but I'm glad I found out that the release is not.
That's really quite sad to hear.
I'm afraid I am at the other end of the spectrum to you and feel that COD gameplay is rather weak and uninteresting compared to Halo gameplay.
I thought the demo had it nearly perfect and if anything would have liked armour mode to be
marginally more effective.
It will be a
HUGE disappointment for me to find that they have reduced what I thought looked to be a really promising and, most importantly, deep multiplayer experience to mimic the uninteresting and shallow player to player encounters of the 'point, shoot, move' variety that defines COD gunfights.
