apart from it being a way to find aimbotters and wallhackers i can only see it being a way of giving intel to your buddies, and when would they show it? not while your downed, and when your dead, you'll be respawning shortly, there's no time or place for killcams, so no. there won't be any

Killcams are very useful, but I'm afraikd Nikto is right: There is just no time for them to be displayed.

while useful, they are still the downfall of "campers" which i dont see the problem with, it is a legit strategy unlike hacking so while useful it still harms players playing fairly. But as for no time, it can be set up like recent Call of Duty games where the kill cam pops up but you have the option to watch it or respawn.

 I don't think we really need them. They're helpful when the same guy keeps destroying you with the sniper and you just have no idea where he is....but Brink isn't a game that's gonna have that problem.

Well for a game like this killcam would be good, would let you see what they did to kill you, possibly even study a player and see what he does with SMART system to be so efficient in such. The only problem with killcam is it gives away your camping spot, but this game is a in-your-face shooter so it shouldn't matter.

I don't see how you can think there's time - when you 'die' you get downed a la Gears of War (as for whether you can be finished off or not I haven't a clue, but that's irrelevant), and you wait around for medic to come pick you up. In addition, the ability 'Downed Fire' which, as its name suggests, allows you shoot while downed, would probably not even be worth using if it meant either forfeiting killcams or a moderate delay between being downed and being able to retaliate against your attacker.

Yes you can gib (Finish off) downed players by either meleeing them or shooting them, again.
Gibbing them with melee gives you more xp than shooting them. Not sure if you actually get xp at all for gibbing them with guns.

I hate killcams. If you have a sweet position to guard to objective, the other team will know. Besides, I don't see it working that great with the difference between incapacitation and death.

I believe that's a very lightheaded thinking. Technically, MW2 is a "in-your-face"-shooter as well, but people seem to camp the [censored] out of it. And they don't even have to use snipers for that.

Besides the fact that it simply cannot work in a game like this were a player is downed before he is killed or revived. The killcam does give away enemy positions or in the case of an operative it will give away the route they took in order to get behind you. It seems like it was created to balance out campers and snipers and as said before it is highly unlikely Brink will have these issues.

Yeah but this game is MEANT to be in-your face. CoD is meant to be a realistic FPS.

I love killcams in games like BC2 or TF2 (never played MW), because they help you to get rid of campers and generally speed up the game. There's nothing that I despise more than games that promote camping in any way.

But as I heard BRINK works differently in general, so if your down and you can still look around/see were you were shot from that would be a better solution, you can still see the enemys position and get him next time. The most terrible game in this case is MoH imo, where you get shot from across the map by snipers hiding in a bush and you can't tell where they are.

CoD is one of the most arcadey games out there. This isn't necessarily a bad trait as CSS is very arcadey and is my favorite FPS, just please don't label CoD as realistic.

Their aim is to be realistic, it's pretty much fact.

The only real things I hate about CoD is their too-much-effort-to-be-real-but-is-really-not-real-at-all gameplay, and the fact that an AR can kill somebody across the entire map, yet most snipers I've used [if not all] do not OHK that are bolt action, making AR pretty much superior weapon overall.

It isn't though, if they wanted to be realistic they would pump out games like ARMA or Operation FLashpoint. Their aim is to create an arcade shooter.

There hasn't been any killcams in any videos I've seen. I hope I don't see them in future videos too :)
