give that man a NEW
We went fishing in Cyrodiil. Had one guild member sit on his horse (looking Afk) on a popular road while 3 of us sat in stealth off to the side. Shame on the people who took the "bait". May they rest in peace.
This brings back my loving memories of RvR in DAoC. Cant wait for release.
Did you have any that just rode on by? Or did anyone who got near the fly trap die a quick death?
They all took the bait, we never attacked till they did. Then they would try to run. Oh the humanity they cried.
Sounds awesome. Now if only the entire continent was pvp enabled
What you said +10 -- we get to have it more than one way, which is ALWAYS the most fun ;o). I really think that more pve players will be enticed into a few forays here and there and am hoping some sort of faction pride emerges!
I don't know why but it's a good feeling when you get ambushed by another player trying to kill you and you beat him. That happened to me this past beta at least a handful of times, on one occasion these two players beat me so I came back with my group of 8 that I was apart of (and trying to get back to) and we destroyed them... Cyrodiil is a big part of the reason I pre-ordered this. Although if I saw another player from another alliance on the road I would typically leave them be unless they confronted me first and the few times I saw them first they did leave me alone.
1 v 1 is where my build shined. Not that awesome in mass battles though, unless I take a support role.
I did get a taste of my own medecine once though, didnt mind it that much.
Personnaly I dont like the way stealth works right now, I think simply having the alliance banner removed allows for realistic stealth vs the odd invisibility it gives you, I don't think its in anyway logical that I have to be staring straight at the person , close enough in order for me to start seeing them again, especially when there is nothing blocking view (open field). And I think invisibility (as the word says) should be reserved to the nightblade class or at least an ability that uses magicka so its only temporary.
My first encounter of one on one pvp in cyrodiil did not end as good for me as it did for you moj.
Nonetheless I loved it ^^
I were doing a scout mission on a farm or lumber(do not remember some part of that encounter still blank from a heavy bash ) Anyway, as I were done writing the report, looking out for hostiles I saw none and felt the security of everyone beta testing near a fort hacking at eachother in big piles.
So I took up my map and wondered where to travel next, fastest way back. As I was standing there on a tree stump (highly visible), I suddenly felt someone attacking me!
Instantly a wild fight began, Even though he started attacking me I got him down to lowest health first and was about to strike him down and felt the excitement when he suddenly drank a potion and got full health.
That turned the battle in his favour as I was about to die and drank my potion but it was not as strong and I did not get full health. Fight went on and I got him down to low health again but he drank another potion(a long fight it was!)
At that point I had no mana or stamina left and I started to retreat using my NB stealth skill but I did not manage to sneak away and he kept trailing me, finally leading to me being slayed.
Were both fun and exciting even though I lost, I will do it again someday
I totally expected the original post to read, "just to watch him die."
Oh man reading these posts makes Cyrodiil sound great. I haven't stepped foot inside it yet so I can save the moment for when my copy arrives on the 31st. I hope the wait is worth it! It sure sounds like it!
I cannot begin to tell you how much of a blast you are in for, my friend. See you out there!
I am absolutely a PvE-server type of player.
That said, I'm so glad that they've set Cyrodiil up the way they have, and I will be quite excited to take part in it.
Basically, I don't hate PvP zones, I just don't like being stuck in them all the time. Especially when games force you, after a certain level, to go full PvP or there will be no game progress at all (Allods, for example, forced you into PvP at a low-to-medium level). I think they're a blast when I'm in the mood/prepared for the experience, but when I'm not on my A-game and I just want to play for a bit, I don't want to be looking over my shoulder every second for a person twice my level to put me in the ground. (I stopped playing Allods because my first experience with the initial PvP area was very, very poor, and involved a group of 5 level-capped players blocking access to the first quest objective. They would hunt us down if we saw them and tried to run...after a while, it's not thrilling, it's frustrating and game-killing, and really in poor taste.) For those that love the experience, I'm glad that PvP servers exist. My stress-level is just too high already, lol. I need to at least brace myself (and know that I can leave without quitting the game if I want to) before I jump into PvP.
FTFY.
If people want to run straight lines between battle zones they will learn the hard way. ESO isn't the first game in which enemy players penalized "right-click-base" and it's not going to be the last.
Uh-huh. Don't know about you, but the OP talks about killing someone who was questing. That's just sad.
That "guy" you feel sad for would of done the same to the OP given the chance 99.9% of the time.
