So I killed the shopkeeper.. and his sister... and his dad..

his third cousin twice removed on his mothers aunts fathers side will replace them.

And if you kill them, then their flatmate will chip in as well.

I'd love to see a little nephew or whatever of the shopkeeper run the shop.

"How many razor sharp scimitars sir?" While barely able to see over the counter.

Would be kind of cute. Or at least, shopkeepers having their little kids who can't see over the counter minding the shops for them. :)

Perhaps a chance to buy the shop once you've bumped off the family? As long as you aren't caught of course... :whistling:

I like this idea and not so much the one of endlessly spawning shop keepers.

Although I could see it being abused with the ability to buy every house/shop in Skyrim... Urgh too much like Fable stay away. :P

"You may have killed my brother, and sister, father and mother...but you still haven't finished this quest! Fetch me 5 plants! No no don't worry...there's no consequences for your actions! Why would we need consequences in an RPG? Oh wait, I'm an in game character, and this is breaking immersion now!"

But if you're not subtle about it they cotton on and murder you in your sleep as retribution. Game over.

And Skyrim is destroyed by the dragons

Well if I'm dead in-game then Skyrim can burn for all I care, I won't know the difference. :P

You only live once after all. May as well slaughter all the shop keepers you can while you're here.

I hope the quest becomes unavailable at some point (if you kill the 1st replacer too). Otherwise there is no real choice and consequence, just a little cosmetic feature. There is no need one would necessarily get to see ALL the content in one single playthrough. Replayability goes hand in hand with mutually exclusive quests, choices that have radical consequences. I'd rather the consequences of your deeds are not shown right away, so as not be able to use save/load to see all the possibilities at once. The Witcher does this in a convincing way.

It would be really really disappointing if all this shopkeeper thing was a SINGULAR scripted event, just to amaze the masses. I remember how hyped I was about the possibility to poison people's food in Oblivion. I thought it was a global feature, not a single scripted quest.

Anyways, the fact that Bethesda put Radiant AI back in the features front is promissing, I doubt they'd advertise it again unless it really works properly this time.

To be honest I'm a little worried that I'll end up murdering shop keepers so that their hot sisters take over.

I always wanted an excuse to talk to her...

Since it seems that if you kill off characters such as shopkeepers, they are replaced by a relative or a friend.

But how far does this go I wonder? If you kill the replacement are they in turn replaced?

Could I end up killing an entire family before the shop is closed down? ...Oh the opportunities. :hubbahubba:

Can't really say. Once you run out of family, for all you know someone could buy up the shop and start running it with the new Radiant Story system or it could be closed down by the guards. We will see when the game comes out or when they explain it in a gameplay video.

They should really come for revenge either alone or with some guards if it goes that far. Hopefully the crime system is worked out better in this one...

I hope there's more consequences to randomly killing shopkeepers. Why don't they just call the guards?

At the end of this line our character will replace all of them for giving the quest to yourself. But still u can try to kill urself and try to see who will be next on ur place.

I hope that if you murder the original quest giver that there are some consequences, maybe assassins attack you while you do the quest or something.

I was thinking of something similar to this. What if you kill a shopkeeper and let's say the father finds out about this, does he try to find and kill you?

All the remaining family members of the various people you've killed join up and form a vigilante justice league. :toughninja:

They can't call the guards with a dagger through their throat. Assassin style. :ninja:

Please no telepathic guards. D:

Most likely the shop will simply close and you'll be hated by the town.

How will the town know you killed them when there were no witnesses? :ninja: I'd be sad if the shop closed forever. :(

"Hot"? I mean, sure, she's a Nord, but did you see the shoulders of that lady?!? She's probably an ex-wrestler or weightlifter or something like that ...
