Killing the Emperor, Titus Mede II, a noble act?

Post » Mon May 28, 2012 12:29 am

Hey there.

I've been wondering a little about the murder of Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and the affects of this.

Would killing the current Emperor actually benefit the Empire?

Or would it be a disaster?

I'm not that adept at the internal affairs of the Empire's throne room, so what do you think? Will ridding the Empire of Titus Mede II make it stronger, or will it make it weaker?

The Thalmor probably ordered it.

There is no information about a strong guy in the backlines, who could take advantage of Titus Mede's death, so you probably weaken the empire even more with the assassination.

Depends. Did Titus II have an heir apparent? If so, what's he like? If not, well, you're probably screwed. The interregnum between the Septim and Mede dynasties was a pretty fail time all round for the Empire, and that was without the thread of Nazi elves.

How is that a spoiler?

What quest is it for or is it just the story in general? If its just the strory about ulfric killing the emporer then its not much of a spoiler is it.

Titus Mede and Ulfric Stormcloack need to go so that a new emperor and Jarl can take their place

The Thalmor got an advantage in the white concordat treaty which needs to be abandoned

Titus Mede ia weak and corrupt

Ulfiric Stormcloak is a raving racist lunatic

Both need to go

Although he seemed resigned to his fate, I'm hoping he has an ace up his sleeve. As in "let them kill me so a new and more competent emperor can take the helm".

Because if that wasn't his plan, he just signed the death certificate of all Tamriel.

I'm not worried, he's not in charge of the army anyway; that's the job of the empire's military leaders.

In fact, the argument stands that martial law could be the way to go as soon as the empire figures out what it's doing in Skyrim. If they win, a military leader with a new army full of Nords will be better poised to act than a political sphere infested with Thalmor ideals..

With his death we might see the Empire take on the role of the Stormcloaks and the Thalmor take on the role of the Empire. A new leader might be what will restart the Great War.

Lol guys get your facts right, it was titus medes leadership that saved the emprie from a civil war, when the thalmor made the ultimatum, and it was him who actually drove the thalmor out of the imperial city, I dont like the empire much, but he is a strong emperor.

And I rly laugh when people say ulfric is racist, you guys think you form a nation without a bit of "national pride", you guys realy have a pink version of history, just look at all imperial officers and theire opinion of the nords and war, specially tulius, complete disregard for his enemy that sees the nords has a bunch of barbarians that would be living in caves if it wasnt for the empire, just do both version stormcloacks and empire, and see the coward, biggot he is, with 0 notion of his nord enemys and allies.

I killed him because at that point in the storyline I had hopes of the dragonborn taking the reigns of the kingdom again (IE: Me)

That's why I also accepted his request to kill the guy that would have been the next emperor.

It's obviously bad for the Empire. I think you'd have to go through a lot of rationalization to say otherwise.

The question is: does your character want to hurt or help the empire?

It may be bad for them in the long run, but I don't ultimately see it deciding the outcome of the war.
