Killzone 3 or Crysis 2 (Your opinions)

Post » Fri Jun 19, 2009 1:17 am

I hated Killzone 3 and I am deeply in love with Crysis 2. The multiplayer is freaking amazing. There is some lag right now but once more people buy it I'm sure that the matchmaking will improve.

I have both games and I personally enjoyed Killzone 3 more. Its online seemed more balanced and was more fun. Its story was bad but I would rather have a bad story then Crysis's broken AI any day. Both good games though

Crysis 2 for me.....traded KZ3 for Crysis.

That said, Battlefield 3 will stuff them both royally !!

Crysis 2 takes it hands down as far as I'm concerned. Imo, the class-system in Killzone 3 is messy and the controls, although more responsive than in KZ2, are still too 'weighty' to the point of just being laggy; although, the main issue for me with KZ3 is the uber fast ADS speed, makes it pointless.

Killzone 3's campaign is 'prettier' in my opinion, and plays nicely with a decent story, at the very least you develop a sense of urgency. However, Crysis 2's campaign has SO much more freedom.. and Brutal melees in campaign are perfect. Imo, they should be more like that in MP.

Killzone 3 has the better objective-based games, but controller response, weapon handling and loadout customisation are all areas dominated by Crysis 2.

KZ 3 is soo overrated, the online is definetely a step up from KZ 2 but the gameplay to slow, and the graphics arent as good either

I would have to give it to Crysis 2 but Killzone 3 is another amazing title.

Killzone 3 eats this game for breakfast!! Killzone had a few glitches in the beginning but i never had a problem with it most of it was just ppl comlaining that they changed it so much form killzone 2!!!! i put countless hours in kz2 and in my opinion 3 is better!!! And to the guy that said it is unbalanced and broken you obviously have never played it!!! It kills this game in mp!! I found crysis 2 a little too easy for my liking!! i dunno that might just be me!! but with the issues this game has visual wise and performance wise id say KZ3!!!!! hail to the helghan!!

Depends on what you want to play. Right now the multiplayer can be laggy depending on host. KZ3 probably more consistent with connection. If they fix Crysis 2, it will beat KZ3.

I am in a tough situation, I bought Killzone 3 on release date and was disapointed by it and haven't really been playing it. I was wondering if I should trade it in and get Crysis 2. What do you guys think is this a good move? Is crysis 2 worth it?

**** KZ3, it was boring and really nothing new.. could have released it as a DLC for killzone 2 and called it killzone 2.5.

Crysis 2 is the awesomeness.

I haven't tried killzone 3, but dude.. When i bought killzone 2, I only played it once.. Trust me. I don't like killzone at all, and I LOVE Crysis 2. I even like it better than Call Of Duty!

Crysis 2 has much better single player, Killzone 3 has much better multiplayer.

Decide which is more important to you and get that game.

Well what exactly made you dissapointed about Killzone 3? Judging just from what you said, I would say that KZ3 is not your type of gameplay. It's pretty much a pop-corn rail-shooter that'll take you for one heck of a rollercoaster ride. But if that's why you don't like it then I'd say Crysis 2 is for you. Crysis 2 is more explorative and definitely slower paced.

I'm currently about 3 hrs into the game and haven't found a moment of intensity like I've experienced in the first hour of KZ3. But like I've said, KZ3 is a rail-shooter and rail-shooters can achieve intense moments quite more often than a free exploring shooter like Crysis 2. Fortunately I love games like this as well. It plays similar to Ghost Recon and sometimes felt like Splinter Cell but in first-person. And I love both of those games.

You really need to describe what dissappointed you about KZ3. That way we can better help you out on what we think you would like rather than saying stupid stuff like "Killzone 3 svcks!!, get Crysis 2!!" and yatta, yatta, yatta. It never ends with useless comments like that.

Well it turns out that what I was "disappointed in" was just a framerate issue on my PS3. Killzone 3 seemed "choppy" to me and I was like wow did Guerrilla they really screw this game up that bad? So I ended up fixing that and keeping my copy of Killzone 3. I then purchased Crysis 2 and have been playing both ever since. Without your guys' opinions I probably would have traded in Killzone but some of you guys persuaded me not too and I thank you for that. All in all I'm happy that I now have both Killzone 3 and Crysis 2, two outstanding games, and definitely will get my moneys worth in both single-player and multi-player for games!!

Well that's great to hear. And in this case you're lucky that you got the PS3 version since I've read that the 360 version suffers from a serious drop in framerate when it reaches some (and I do mean some) of the its most intense moments in the single player campaign. I'm lovin' Crysis 2 more now, and the pace is starting to pick up a bit. But I popped in KZ3 last night after C2 to play some online mp and wow, it still drops my jaw. There's something about that gritty look I just love about KZ3. I'm glad I've got both games.

Killzone 3 because it has dedicated servers, even though it's extremely unbalanced. Crysis 2 would be far better if it had dedicated servers.

Killzone 3 was a little too bulky for my liking, if that makes sense. I was good at multiplayer, but I never really found myself getting engaged and addicted to it. Rack up kills, rinse, repeat, bored

Crysis 2 feels much more fluid in movement, at least to me. I instantly fell in love with the multiplayer despite its issues which I assume they will fix. I enjoy the playstyle a lot more. Seems I have more options with how I want to approach a situation, even in Multi. Throwing out a hologram to run past a team of campers only to get them from behind when they shoot it just warms my heart

It's really a matter what kind of gameplay you like though

I have both games, Killzone 3 is a little more realistic, Cryisis 2 is a little better imo; Im planning to keep both anyway, but now I'm all about Cryisis 2.

It's not really fair to compare, since they are very different games.

its true , but the online kz3 is much bether!

crysis is more for the story but has just been optimized to try and be like COD

Sorry, but I gotta say I take serious issue with this. Crysis 2 SP is not like or trying to be like COD.

It's not as bad as Homefront, but Homefront is **** anyway so it doesn't matter, Crysis 2 is actually decent but the lag makes it unplayable.
