Yeah but it comes in at 40+ gigabytes, according to that article. And I am sure most people do not have blu-ray burners.

That's the thing though, unless they have a great connection most will probably pick up their copy from Gamestop or some other retailer before they do.

And with what Sony is doing to hackers, I wouldn't be surprised if they start suing pirates as well. Now would not be a good time to piss off Sony.

To any Killzone 3 pirates, just buy the game. Is it not worth the $60?

Ha, probably just someone at Sony seeing all the hype/good reactions to the Crysis 2 leak, Killzone main competition, hence they released their own "early demo" on the pirate networks to make sure people could compare graphics, gameplay and such.
Smart idea anyhow, loads of advertisemant for free

To anyone saying 'zomg it won't be as bad as crysis 2 leak because of X'

It will be worse, since this'll be the retail version, all that'll happen is that some people will burn it and sell it on.

People can do lots with pirated games but I think it's taken way out of proportion. In the whole large sum, pirating barely touches the fabric of game development. The game dev economy is still roaring pretty well. People will buy the game if they like it. It's not going to affect who buys and who doesn't. I have both a pirated and retail copy of Halo Reach because I liked it. If I didn't like it, I would just delete the ISO and not play it again. I see pirated back ups as a way to play the game without having to spend money at first. This way I can get a chance to give it a full go and if I feel it's worth money, I'll buy it.

It's not as bad since they would still need a hacked console to play it.

I'd say it's even worse. All the owner has to do is download the hack tool and download the game.
and this one is the final release, unlike the leaked Crysis 2 unfinished beta.

But Sony is pretty adamant about suing people right now.

Will people still do it, sure. But the question is how far is Sony willing to go to protect one of its flagship titles?

Wow who wants to download 41gb? and who the hell has a blue ray burner? crysis 2's leak won't effect sales and neither will killzone's leak the people who decided to pirate those games were probably going to do it anyway on release date, sales will be about the same regardless.

Yeah piracy on PS3 will become big business now it has been cracked.

"You want DVD?"

But anyway what people would most likely do is put up a hack that you can add to a rental copy.

Pirating on the PS3 is no where near as easy as it is on PC. Even pirating 360 games requires some money and effort.

Hm lets see.Every game in ps3 costs around 60-70 dollars.Hacking the console costs near 100 dollars. So no real effort at all.The thing is that piracy exists everywhere not only on games but if the game is good u buy it.If u are not convinced it is good u either play a demo, play on your friend, read the reviews or else u buy it when the price drops in 4-5 months.End of story

What the hell are you talking about ?

The leak of KZ 3 is even worse than Crsis 2 becase it is the finished version so that would hurt the sale of the game when it's released on Feb 22.

If you are saying the console needs to be opened up and physically worked on then I think you must have been living under a rock for the past couple of months.

Chances are that Crysis 2 will suffer from some level of piracy on every format.

Probably acerimmer. Although PC will have a higher number of 'pirated copies' because of the people who buy the game anyway but downloaded the leaked beta too.

PC will have higher numbers simply because there are far more PCs in people's households. Not everyone can afford to buy a machine dedicated solely to gaming.

Anyway, I find it extremely annoying how publishers/developers say that a PC leak is "a major blow to the PC" whereas a console leak is just an unfortunate event. There is just too much negativity towards the PC for no good reason.

No it's not. KZ3 is a massive failure and a huge disappointment to me. March 22nd cant' come soon enough.

Killzone 3 is not worth 40gb download just because the game svcks. The graphics and lighting effects are not that great when you compare it to killzone 2.
