OK so the reason something upsets me is this...

I have had fallout 3 and new vegas a while now and I love them me and my friend play it we love it i loved them!

I got skyrim and played it for a bit and eventually went " i want to play some fallout"

Because it had been a while since i played fallout everything felt..different it felt to bright it felt odd and it is kinda annoying because i loved the feeling i used to have when playing fallout

i change brightness but it still feels too bright or too dark


Any reason you think this is or is it just because i have played Skyrim?

1. Never found Skyrim's graphics all that appealing. They felt to generic, and it is just a modified Gambryo engine.
2. I felt the colours and tones suited the feel of the game.

It seems you've just been spoiled by Skyrim's graphics. Happened to me with Oblivion when Fallout 3 was released, weirdly enough.

Maybe you just don't like the norhern theme?
I found Morrowind depressingly dark.

I suggest you and your friends go and buy the Originals which you can get for around $10. Play them, and then go back to Fallout 3 and New Vegas

This. Playing the originals makes you appreciate the series more. Though it might change your view on F3, it will most definitely make FNV more appealing.

OP, it could just be that you are burned out from playing too much Fallout. Or it could be you are burned out from playing too many First Person RPGs. Play the originals or play some other games. And maybe later you will be able to play Fallout again.

I can't imagine why. Different worlds and to me Fallout:3 and NV both felt rather gray and colorless but I think that adds to the ambiance and made the world match the situations. All except New Vegas which was bright and shiny and alive despite nobody ever having much to say out on the streets.

Get over it and look past the graphics

I've been playin Mass Effect and such for a while and when I went back to New Vegas I saw how terrible the graphics were in comparison to more modern games or even older games with better engines.

Since I use hi res mods and enchanced shaders when I play NV I don't see much differance between them honestly for pure graphics power.

How is this relevant? OP was talking about the graphics.

It's funny, but when I play Fallout 3, I choose to play it @ 720 x 560 res. While I don't recommend it to others, I find that on my PC, with my graphics card, the game gets resampled (or really seems to), and what I get is really cool looking IMO. Best I can describe it is that it looks a bit like a 'Heavy Metal' movie.

*Can't screen shot it though (I've tried); screenshots don't include the resample/stretch.

Skyrim and the other Elder Scrolls are fun but personally i enjoy them yes but the graphics were not too appealing, i think it might be just in your head i had no real problems switching from fallout to skyrim and vice versa.

I think Styles' comment hinted at something like this:

If you play Fallout 1 and 2, and then go back to 3 and New Vegas, then the graphics in New Vegas will seem like the product of some sort of advanced futuristic technology that will make you fear how much man has advanced in the past decade.

Same thing happens when you play Wasteland and then go back to playing Fallout and Fallout 2. (They seem like extremely advanced games in terms of graphics and mechanics even though, by today's standards, the graphics are hideously outdated.)

If you go from Wasteland to New Vegas... well, it's crazy.

I don't know about that. I think it may just feel different due to time gone by. I mean I still love games such as Thief and Doom. Doom is extremely outdated but it is still fun to remember all the secrets and try to survive. I think it depends on mood, attitude, and the time gone past.

But I am just some random internet poster.. what do I know 8)
