hockey has been around for thosands of years now too, hurling for exemple in ireland was in the bc times. i'm just saying some thing similar with ice skates could be interesting and i think kinect could be put to good use to not just for hockey in skyrim but also for the combat as well. noone has really brought up the kinect idea as much on these forums, not nearly as much as people posting about level scalling and maps.
No one but new comers bring this idea on table because it's not a good one.
And whatever, Nirn isn't Earth. There is no hockey in Nirn. And do you have any idea of how much you use combat in-game? Or even, how many actions you can realize in the game and how it would be nearly impossible to make this work with a low-resolution infra-red camera full of glitches and delay? Or how would you walk in the games world using Kinect? Or manage menus and stats with the extremely low precision that this camera has?
You would swing you arms so much that you would sleep with myalgia and wake up the next day barely able to move your muscles.
You would break your house's furniture while swinging around like a monkey.
You would have to walk kilometers, and that would be impossible in the confined room space.
When I bought my Wii I was expecting immersion, I got frustration and rage. The same applies to Kinect, at first, it looks cool, then you get bored of it and realize how much money you wasted on it.
Fans wouldn't like, they would stop liking Bethesda. It doesn't work in a game with such complexity and attention to detail and small things. Don't ever ask any company that makes "serious" games to implement Kinect into their games. Can you imagine for instance how Assassin's Creed series would work on it?
Plus the game is not an exclusive, I won't even bother to explain why it wouldn't work for being a multiplatform game.
