King Leonidas

For the armor I would say use the legion helmet you can get in Helgen it is heavy but Leonidas wears a metal helmet in 300 but armor-wise wear hide armor that way the chest still shows.

Do you need to go with Rolaf to get that?

Dawnbreaker - http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dawnbreaker
Shield of Ysgramor - http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Shield_of_Ysgramor
Steel Imperial Gauntlets - http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Steel_Imperial_Gaunlets
Steel Shin Boots - http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Steel_Shin_Boots

As for the armor piece, you can find bandits that have a shirtless variation of the Hide Armor. There's one early on gaurding a mine between Helgen and Riverwood that would do nicely. Otherwise, you could just use the regular Iron Armor if you'd prefer, as it more closely resembles actual armor of the era than a shirtless soldier. Also, until you get the Shield of Ysgramor, you should just use a Banded Iron Shield. Similarly, you could use any sword in the game until you get the Dawnbreaker. The Daedric Sword actually has better shape to the movie, but looks off, imo, whilst the Dawnbreaker at least looks similar to real swords of the era. Unfortunately, there aren't any capes in the game (save for the one on the back of the Nightingale Armor), so you're prety much SOL there.

So I'm going to make a Nord character based of king Leonidas from the movie "300". And I was hoping you guys would agree/disagree to what i need in equipment and skills.

1: I need to use a one-handed sword. Right or wrong?

2: I need to use a shield. Right or wrong?

3: I need to use light armor, preferably something that is not covering the whole body. Right or wrong?

4: I need to level up my skills and use perks in one-handed and block. Right or wrong?

Bonus question: Do any of you know of any armor and/or weapons/shield that would work with my character?

Only thing i can say is that true Spartan armor from ancient Greek times was not "Light Armor", it weighed about 60+ pounds and was built for total protecting, not being light on your feet as the movie would have you believe, Spartans never broke that Phalanx they were in unless it was broken by a enemy advance, and if this game had spears i would say that you use a spear, cause that was there main weapon, there sword, was a back up weapon for if their spear's broke, plus that sword is really small, and also very heavy.

And there armor was designed to cover there whole body as well, Helmet, Chestplate, Leg protection, Gauntlets, And there shield covered their thighs, and arms, while without the shield it doesn't look like it covers everything, they made sure they had armor to cover everywhere.

Awesome advise there, Lucread! I think I will go for that setup actually. But one question: What does SOL mean? I'm norwegian so abbreviations in english are not my field of expertise

Yep. http://i228.photobucket.com/albums/ee87/Konane117/legionhelmet2.jpg helmet. The one I'm using :)

My first time seeing that helm, that is awsome.

I would say Leonidas does a mix of heavy/light. Since your going for the 300 look, his helm and shield look like heavier armor while he basicly wears a little leather underwear. Can't recall the footwear.

Hilarious, because that's what I did.

Depends on how "accurate" you want to be

One handed sword with shield, definitely!

Might have to mix it up with the armor...

If you want to look like a Spartan Hoplite... then Drawrven Helmet, with Wolf Gauntlets, Armor, and Boots, and a Banded Iron or Steel Shield. Personally, I really didn't like the Drawrven Helmet or Wolf Armor, so I went with an Ancient Nord Helment and Steel Armor w/o shoulder pads

Absolutely NO ARCHERY!!! Spartans loathed archers and often called them COWARDS!!!

Spartans were weak. Be a Mongol or a Hun instead.

Considering how easy it is to be a Viking in this game, I was assuming you specifically didn't want to be one, hence your desire to be a homoerotic movie character instead.

This answers all your questions and is funny as hell. It's a PC mod for sure, but I wish us Xboxers could do this

How would you balance a spear (I.E a weapon that keep your opponent too far away to require blocking) and a shield?
