First meeting Ken Rolston, now this. Where exactly are you getting your bottled Djinni from? :stare:

Being in the right place at the right time with the right knowledge

It honestly just looks like a Fable clone.

I still like the general idea. 90s fantasy comic vibe, the kind of combat I always enjoy (when done right *stares at TFU*), someone who knows how to write heroic stories, and a capable lead designer. The components are right. We'll see how it turns out.

Saw the video over here: http://kotaku.com/5801327/a-five-minute-guided-tour-of-kingdoms-of-amalur-reckoning

My impression:
- has all the basic of an action RPG
- seems to be dungeon-driven, aka don't expect much story
- unnecessary large UI

I have to say it looks pretty bad. Worse than Skyrim by FAR, but the combat actually looks better (although it still has the kill movies =/).

Seems like it could be a good slash-em-up, and it reminds me a bit of Fable (the original). I don't expect much out of the setting or story, and the art style seems pretty bland to me.

I just saw the 5 minute video, and I'm not too pleased about what I saw and it lowered my expectations of the game. Unfortunate.

I like the art style, actually, and everything I've seen/read so far seems to indicate the world will be bright and colorful... and I like that in a gameworld. If they could just do something other than show us combat, however, I may be able to actually come up with some concrete ideas about the game. At the moment, I still think it is very likely that I'll wait for some reviews and, if they are good, get the game only a few days after release. Any large, open-ended action RPG is something for me to keep my eye on, so I have my eye on it.

Doesn't seem like my kind of game. Seems like the combat would get boring.

EDIT: I only saw the races section so far, and there already seems to be more skills than in Skyrim. Looks fantastic!

This looks like an xbox game.

It's for all three major platforms. By chance, were you referring to the graphics? Or was it the control scheme of the demo (obviously 360 demo footage, but not a 360 exclusive).

Graphics.

Did you get a gaming PC, recently? Pretty much all multiplatform games look the same on both 360s and PS3s. Skyrim will be no different. Fallout 3 was no different. Most games aren't any different. I doubt this game will be different, but it IS 360 demo footage you saw.

I actually meant an original xbox game, not 360.

I don't see what you're referring to. It looks very much like a current generation video game. Not every game can use the most advanced graphical techniques, but it's definitely making use of current generation technology.

Just looks really "meh". Just my opinion.

The combat looks awesome although it reminds me too much of Fable's combat. This is a game I may add to my want list.

I think it looks awesome so far! I'm always up for some open-world RPGing on my PC, and the reviews so far have been really positive. The combat sounds really interesting, especially for those not playing your basic hack-and-slash classes. And the number of big names (in game, story and art) certainly doesn't hurt.

this game looks like a new and improved version of Fable 1, which is certainly fine with me. The only thing that worries me is how they're blasting those names on every video of the game. Makes me think they're just using the hot names to get sales, hopefully I'm dead wrong.

Can someone confirm for me if it got pushed back to 2012?
