Kingpin: Life Of Crime

Post » Wed Apr 08, 2009 2:40 pm

Any chance of a sequel? A few years ago (just before the temporary fall of gamesas...) there were rumors of a seqel in development but as I said, rumors...

Anyway there is a diehard community for Kingpin who would love to see a sequel. Tons of maps and mods have been created over the years (and still pumping...), active forum and all is current, check it out: Kingpin Forever

We've also created a petition requesting a sequel and have almost 7,000 signatures
Petition For Kingpin 2

Glad to see gamesas back :) Kingpin Forever...for news so fresh it's ToXiC!

Yes it was April of 2004 when he sequel was announced, if I remember correctly, but then I guess the money ran out :(

I'd say that Kingpin was ahead of its time when it was released in 1999 but with titles like GTA and True Crime etc the timing is right for a sequel now :D

For anyone interested, Rock Paper Shotgun wrote up a Kingpin Retrospective some time ago. Impressions on the game and a few tidbits of its development included.

Click me and enjoy :)

The Lezbo doesn't ask for a sequal, the Lezbo DEMANDS a sequal. Preferably one that even more violent and sixy than the original

I think a sequel would be a GREAT thing. And I know many copies would sell. This was and still is a great game. There is still a very dedicated following and the amount of maps and mods that have been created are extemely extensive.

A sequel would be awesome.

Nice to see a KingPin section with older games. Could not believe it wasn't included
the first time I checked the forum.

Indeed! ;) Proper PR'ed Kingpin 2 will make an avalanche of peeps ineterested in playin it. It will be a boom in the gaming massmedia. But of course it's so simpe to spoil Kingpin's uniqueness. Last word belongs to gamesas :geek: Decieve,

Absolutely. KP was pretty big in it's day, hours and hours on Heat (remember that system? ) I definitely think all those players would come back. There was a long list of em and I'm sure all those folks would want to check out a Kingpin2

Meph, what do you play? I was a heavy DM Hitman player over at BC's Da PlaygroundZ, the server held 16 players and was always packed to the gills. The hours I spent playing...almost cost me a divorce

I used to make custom skins, build maps (still mess with that a bit)

I came too late. If i'm not mistaken, heat.net was active a year only or something like that.

:D I'm addicted to kit, bm, realmode\hitman. I used to play at BC's Da PlaygroundZ but his webby fvcked up a couple of times so soon i lost any interest in playin this server.
http://cnya.cap-n-yo-ass.com/fragstats/kp4ever_dpg/scores.html (there are only 12 players now :( )

Btw, do you like coop mod? I played with AB guys yesturday. We made a raid for Blunt's tiks  It took some time to kill her :geek:

A Kingpin 2 would be nice but i prefer that gamesas please release the source code of Kingpin.
id Software Already released Quake 2 and Quake 3 source code so why can't gamesas do that?
There many bugs and cheats in Kingpin and some bugs needed to be fixed even with a hex editor to keeped Kingpin alive.
So please release Kingpin source code gamesas.

Detropolis rocks. When Hitman died several years back I jumped into Detropolis and it was the best. It was really cool to play standard DM on all custom maps server. As for team play I didnt play much of it, nowhere even close to DM. The BM I played was Hogie's Curse server.

Absolutely, if for no other reason to clean up that lame MMclient. Not only is it dated (lord knows how many cheats are running rampantly) onboard intel vid cards wont work. Kingpin Forever...for news so fresh it's ToXiC!
