Kit DVD

I don't see how it makes a difference. Besides, it will just cost them more money to print the DVDs.

Was about to say the exact same thing.

Believe it or not, printing DVDs costs money. The creation kit will probably end up getting patches anyways. Why bother having it on its own disk if you'll have to patch it after installation? It'd be much easier to just download the latest version.

I'd like to see an extra disk come with Skyrim that contains not only the CK but also some extra assets. I know they must have a ton of meshes that were scrapped and it would be awesome if they would give them to us modders. If they did do that though they would need to ship with the game. Other than that I can't really think of any other reason why it couldn't be downloaded.

So having it on a disc will somehow help those choosing not to download it...

... So what happens when a patch is released?

The possible benefit of having official tutorials added is unlikely, and is only asking more from Bethesda. Why don't we just have the CS available online, have them focus on patching it and then we provide the tutorials and wiki's ourselves.

Releasing assets would be cool, but wouldn't it be better if there was just an official place for that somewhere on the website? Because it would be 10 minutes before they appeared on the internet to download.

Most definitely. Look at Morrowind. They tried something new, they released the Construction Set and legalized modding of the game. The result? It's a decade old and still has a very devoted and talented small community. (Which I am proud to be apart of though not being talented.)
