Yes, usually out of frustration

I use whatever knives I can find. Kitchen steak knives, butter knives, ballistic knives (never could figure out what the little button did :()

I use a bowie knife, but half the time is used throwing, the rest is used dodging the bounced back knife.

From what I've read, you're supposed to use a knife with a 1 oz to 1 inch ratio.
I would like to get into it, but I think I maim myself enough with my butterfly knife.

I do occasional do it every now and then, not as a profession, but just for the sake of boredom.

Oh yeah and, I also use whatever knives I can find. :P

Never had any actual throwing knives, but i used to throw hatchets and machetes..
Not just at targets, but I used to try to juggle as well. Pretty much ended when i cut throughtthe webbing between my forefinger and thumb

Ouch, that had to be a fun experience. I cringed a little just thinking about it.

I used to be almost half way semi decent at knife throwing. The trick is to calculate the distance between you and the target to figure out the number of spins. This way you know which end of the knife to hold. The center of balance also makes a big difference. I never tried with any of my good knives, just the cheap kind I got from the swap meet. Mostly they were either the cheapo stamp pressed throwing knives or the double edged dagger style, I still have a dagger with a well machined tip because I had to fix it so many times. I wouldn't try it with a folding knife, as they are usually not balanced for it; or with my KaBar because I'd cry if I missed and broke the blade on something.

Can I throw a knife? Of course I can throw a knife what kind of question is that.

It won't hit anything. And whatever it does hit will probably be struck by the flat of the blade or the handle. Oh and it won't go very far to start with. And I'll probably look like a cross between a nerd and a girl and a ragdoll when I throw.

But I can throw it all right. :toughninja:

I do it at times but not often at all. And I use throwing knives, smaller ones.

heh.. I was in my mid teens and had to basically hide it from my mom, because she would have taken my machete away.. gauze and tape and labeling it a small cut while cutting veggies.

Iw as accident prone as a kid, so it really wasnt all that bad.. i had built up quite a pain threshold.
The chainsaw was much worse.

I know two guys who used to go back in the warehouse where they worked and throw knives at each other and try to catch them. They're still alive, but yeah, they don't work there anymore.

Edit: I've tried throwing a knife once, and got it dead on. I quit while I was ahead.

I try to. Like most people I'm not very good at it. The way I see it, if you're ever in a situation where you need to throw a knife at someone, throw it hard enough so that even if the butt hits it will stick. It probably won't but it will hurt like a [censored].

I've tried it, and I only got it to stick in the tree once. I probably threw it twenty times at the least.

Now, hatchets are a different story. I can stick them in a tree almost thirty feet away without much effort.

I used to. At my old dart board. Until it went through it and stuck into my door. Mother was mad.

I also nearly cut my finger off while chopping a banana in pieces while I was bored. A good slab of skin came off, but not all the way, but too deep to just pull of the skin and not yell my ass off so I just kept it on, it reattached...then it turned black :o. Now I just have a huge scar up my index finger.
