Knights of the nine?

Does anyone else want to see the Knights of the nine return since your PC (assuming you played the expansion) brought them back in oblivion?

I wouldn't mind some references in books but I already adventured with KotN in Oblivion and I would want something different.

I'm almost always in favor of expanding the number of factions... even if some aren't as fleshed out as others.

Since the Empire is in decline, and the Nords have their own gods, I doubt the Imperial religion will be more than a small cult in the province, (like it was in Morrowind) if that.

Yeah not necessarily in big numbers but a least a small reference would be nice

No I want refrences in book and stories about what happened after oblivion but not for them to actually be in Skyrim, well maybe find a skeleton or frozen body of one of the kights but that's it. I want new stories and factions in Skyrim

even just finding one of the relics of the crusader with a reference to how it ended up in skyrim would make me happy

I don't know. That group just doesn't seem very ... well Nordish. Reference to them in a book is fine.

I would like to see maybe some other simular group of Nord origin. A little less holy and a little more barbaric.

I agree with the others, a reference, but nothing more.

Let a NEW holy order rise for us to join!

Maybe have a new faction that's somewhat similar to the Knights of the Nine (KotN) would be more welcoming to Skyrim. I don't want to see the KotN specifically brought to Skyrim because Umaril is supposedly defeated and gone for good, so if the KotN are brought to Skyrim, what purpose would they serve? Aiding the Dovahkiin?

The reasons can be heard in some of their post quest banter:

1) Starting a crusade. Liches, Vampires, and other forms of evil are enough incentive
2) Finding relics of sacred power
- The Boots of the Apostle belonged to Tiber Septim, who ascended to Talos/Ysmir
- The Lord's Mail is an artifact created by Kynareth
- Stendarr's Hammer
- Even the Chrysamere, while not proven to be a holy relic, is implied to be one

If any of these relics were in Skyrim, you can bet the Knights would go for it

I'll be fine with just a few lore references to the KOTN, as long as we'll have a new holy faction to join for Skyrim. Skyrim's main religious beliefs are more Norse than Cyrodiil, but the Imperial-inhabitated areas would still advocate their conception if the Aedric gods, so a Skyrim chapter of the Imperial Cult should exist and be joinable.

There's always motivation to have a knightly order protecting the faithful in Skyrim, what with draugr, ice vampires, ice wraiths, Dragon Priests, and all sorts of other unnatural beasts threatening the populace.

Meh, that questline wasn't really to my taste anyway. Too pious.

No. I don't even care if we get a reference. They're a Cyrodiil-based faction meant to defend the holy crusader relics, which are still in Cyrodiil. No reason for them to be in Skyrim, or for anyone in Skyrim to care about them, really.

but i could see the crusade aspect of it. plus i want some way to tie the games together in the in-game world more then just books, i feel like some of cyrodill's (which borders skyrim) culture would seep past the borders.

Id say they were called together for a one time thing, now that Unfurth(?) is stopped, no need for them. Loved the quest line, except for the restoration training breaking, but them being in Skyrim would be pretty lazy in my opinion.

The Nights of the Nine was stupid. I hate it whenever they reference Christan crusaders. Guess what, it's TES, Jesus doesn't exist in the game, the term crusade means "Christ's aid". Therefore if Jesus doesn't exist in the lore the word crusader shouldn't be part of the lore. Nor should there be Catholic style churches or Christan style rituals. Edit: or monks.

Personally I found that questline unsatisfactory, uncharacteristic of Oblivion as a whole. A reference perhaps, or a frozen corpse, but the plot was sparse to begin with and trying to adapt it to a new game and add to it wouldn't work too well in my opinion. It was a short DLC for Oblivion and i dont think it would fit in Skyrim or particularly want Bethesda to try to force it in.

That is also true. You really can't call the Knights of the Nine an expansion pack. There just wasn't really much you could do.

Been there done that. I'd much rather see more new unique factions from skyrim that are more than typical "good guy knights".

The point made about Christianity is fine, but remember that Morrowind, too, had its own style of holy warriors (Ordinators)
