Knock Knock Crytek - its about time we got some dang answers

Post » Thu Oct 09, 2008 4:40 am

Yeah, like Shinanigans said, it's your opinion. You can like FC, but we can like Crysis.

I'm not going answer any further in this thread since some of my questions got answered (Cheers Kuro!), but I have to be honest here, it's too late to do anything about it. If you watched the C2TV video, you can see that everyone is pretty busy, I don't think they're going to get around it.

@sadhev
Devs are always busy. They've tight timelines to meet and are making extra hours very often.

Yep, this game is done. There just polishing it now and getting it ready to release. Nothing major is going to be changed unless they decide to postpone release to next year.

Personally, i hope the game is delayed.

The whole point of knock knock anymore is to make sure that Crytek acknowledges and works on the issues of their previous games, so that they do not make the same mistakes twice. There is nothing worse than making the same mistake twice. =) And when people have given Crytek the code to fix some of these issues, there is NO reason some of the issues should happen again.

Yeah, I wish it would be delayed too, but you know, they're just itching to get that income coming in. Thats how it always is. Why there are so many patches.

if it wont be completly done, and still had some problems then i would wish it would be delayed but if they can get it polished by when ever it is going to come out well they they can release it.... or just watch us here going crazy to figure out when it will come out :)

It really shouldn't be delayed. Crytek has had 2 years, and they have said that CryEngine 3 has been in worked on since 2007.

Of course, it probably would be for the best if it was, but 2 years is plenty of time to get your gear together.

Crytek had 3 years with Crysis, and look how that turned out. =/ Simply put, I think Crysis 2 needs to be pushed back to quarter one 2011. It would be for the best. I want Crysis 2 as well, but i realize that this game is going to take longer than what Crytek says.

Keep in mind that every Crytek title EVER has always been delayed. So I'm counting on the same thing for this title. Crytek never seems to realize just how long it takes to make a game. ;)

Well they did have more time, but now have more studios and employees. They are making a right choice by having one studio work entirely on SP and another on MP. This is no excuse to make a game take a shorter amount of time to make, but it also should show some more correct use of time and manpower.

Plus, console players, get more angry compared to PC players about delayed games. Ever tell a 10-year old to wait for something just another week?

Could EA be forcing the release date on Crytek? I've noticed no one has brought this up before.

That's what a beta is for. And I really hope EA is not forcing the release date on Crytek. That could be catastrophic. I'm just nervous. Crysis Warhead had a ton of bugs and so did Crysis. I don't want this to happen again in Crysis 2. Which is why I am asking for a delay to work out all the kinks before its released.

Have you played the first two Crysis games?

Crysis had a very unfinished multiplayer and was optimized horribly to scale on lower end computers. Crysis Wars was bugs, bugs, and more bugs, and lacked Singleplayer length and content. Even after all the patches, I easily come across one bug in every single 10 minute match, its rediculous.

Because of the bugs and lack of content of previous titles, it has me worried about Crysis 2. I feel that if it was pushed back, that more content could be added to the game and the bugs would not be a prevalent problem.

You can't say that my nervousness is not justified. I might be worrying a bit too much, but I REALLY want this game to revolutionize the industry and crush the competition, its been my ambition for Crytek to achieve that since Far Cry. =)

its a hackers dream because they have source code, give a hacker source code to anything they can hack it...

if you use a third party program (Phoenix) then you half the hackers at least :)

IT BETTER BE BUG FREE!!!

and only let you make one account per IP address. (that way, cheaters will stay offline)

One account per IP adress is a bad thing. What if people have multiple copies of the game for different family members? You need two different gamespy accounts to have two family members play on the same IP. With only one IP per account, this wouldnt be possible.

Not to mention they could just use a proxy.

This didn't have anything to do with a fanclub. He just explained where the issue of the hacker problem of Crysis lies. That's it, I don't know what's fanboy-ish about that ;)

Not at all :) Would've just deleted the thread in that case. What i'd like to avoid is giving a known problem more publicity. Discuss problems about hackers, sure, but let's not start naming names and giving would-be hackers something to google.

GOOGLE IS SKYNET! :D

Any update on these problems yet Crytek? Or still the same age old answer?

Im almost ready to give up on Crytek altogether and go with DICE. Atleast they support their titles.

@talon is a waste time now . Wars is already died .

Crytek does not understand that the multiplayer C2 born already dead
for not having care on the previous game

IMHO Crytek is not very interested in the multiplayer side of their games and C2 is a huge advertising spot for sell the engine not the game

@zukov - Agreed. A lot of weirdness so far on Crytek's part. If they are going to ship in November, then this game is already finished and in quality testing stages. By next month they'll giving it to EA to start production and distribution. So, I guess the PC scenes show it to be a total port, and God knows if we will ever see any MP, console or otherwise until this thing releases. The emptiness of these forums says it all.
