I know how Skyrim should be!

So with every new info that's been given to us, there are more and more enragement threads being created. There are always the same answers, but one of these answers caught my eye: "You're not a developer, you don't know what it takes for them to implement this feature in the game", this statement is an example ofcourse, and refers to absolutely no specific topic.

So, here you get the chance to become the devs. How would YOU create the perfect Skyrim?

I'll start by giving my own "PERFECT" Skyrim as an individual:
For me the "Perfect" Skyrim is a Skyrim with Morrowind's fast travel system, Morrowind's armor customization and Morrowind's feeling of discovery.
The battle system for me is perfect, but I would not force finishing moves into 3rd person.
For me the more complexity the better. I would've stayed with a skill for each weapon rather than one-handed weapons and two-handed ones.
I would've made the world bigger, with more content concerning depth of storyline and opposite guilds, which includes guild-wars.
I would create an artistic 2D map, a drawn one. Plus, I would get rid of quest markers completely.
I would add lots of horror features to the game and add a feeling of attachment and heroesm for some of the main characters.
I would create a somewhat political world with contreverses and conflicted wars.
I would add raids on villages, in which there are hordes of rebels/gangs raiding the cities/villages and robbing/killing everyone, while you have to help them or watch from afar.

I would make the cities opened, but leave out levitation. I would make the horse-riding system similar to the one in Shadow of the Colossus.
I would include an arena which is HUGE and populated, with lots of battles and kinds of battles and traps, tournaments etc.
I would've made battle shouts destroy environments as well, same goes for the landscape.

I would make the snow pile up and fill even the characters in game, the grass, the creatures, etc.

So yeah, that's my interpetation of Skyrim as a perfect game for me, regardless of limitations or experiences. Just remember I think Skyrim will be an AWESOME game and I'll surely fall in love with it, just saying what features would make this game the perfect game for me :)

What is it for you?

Whatever Skyrim will be minus the evil restore health potions.

Morrowind fast travel would be nice also...

I'd want the Morrowind travel system, armor system (right pauldron, left pauldron, etc), remove the forced 3rd person perspective, etc. I don't like how in some of the articles I've read it says "carriages are available to take you to the major towns from the start of the game." I hope that's just a mess up by the writer of the article.
But I haven't played this game yet so I can't really judge it. This stuff might work great. Who knows?

I want the Skyrim that you envision, especially the implementation of horror aspects. But why do you insist that one must be forced into a 3rd person perspective while executing finishing moves when we clearly don't have to? o.o

I want a Skyrim that has as much freedom and logic as possible. I want to be free to buy a house and fill it full of watermelons and cheese, then have the neighbors complain about the smell of rotten food a few weeks later.

I want to be able to become the head of a faction, and then be able to MANAGE said faction.

I want a Skyrim with LOTS of different factions and cultures.

I want a Skyrim that lets you climb certain objects such as trees and ladders.

I want to be able to wear greaves that are different from my cuirass.

I want to be able to parry melee attacks with a weapon.

I want a Skyrim where characters talk about things more interesting than mudcrabs.

I want a Skyrim that has developers who care about making it the best it can be.

It did go 3rd person view when he kicked the dog or was it a wolf...which is BS.

Oblivion's level up system and attributes

Morrowind's armor including helm, shoulder x 2, chest, greaves, boots, gloves, belt, pants, shirt and shield

Spell making

The ability to get more perks if you level carefully instead of all crazy

Putting one point into a tree allows you to progress up that tree even if the prereq has multiple perks

Instead of trying to fully 3d each and every item in the game, i would put far more into the creation system or just rip off APB

Either cut in half every items weight or double carry weight (no 50 lb weapons when you can carry 200 lbs)

Add in even more character defining traits like advantages and disadvantages

And spells should cause environmental impact, fire balls should catch grasses on fire and hurt anyone for example

It's been a while since I've posted on this forum.

My perfect Skyrim? One that surprises me.

I'd prefer the package I'm expecting to purchase 11/11/11 or whenever I'm capable of doing so (university takes up most of my time). I don't think I've seen enough of the game to really have any complaints yet, or criticisms to say the least. I'm trying not to develop extravagant expectations so I'm capable of enjoying the game. I personally like what I've seen so far, for the most part. The speed-kill looked a little choppy in the E3 demo, but I can let it slide since there's another five months to crunch for bugs.

I'm pretty sure that was just Todd changing the camera perspective so that viewers could see the finisher in 3rd person.

Hmm I'll add some things that I hope will be in the game. Dismemberment like in Fallout 3. At least post mortem. Nothing says freedom of play style like dismembering a body. :P
I hope the armorer skill actually has SOMETHING to do with making armor, unlike in Oblivion.
I hope I can take advantage of supply and demand. Bring skins further north to towns that need fur more to gain a larger profit. Sabotage a towns lumber mill then sell them wood. etc.

Basically everything from Morrowind, with Skyrim's combat, and crysis-level graphics. Oh, and a much bigger world. That would probably be the best game in the universe.

edit - forgot to say also Skyrims dialogue, but Morrowinds directions instead of quest markers

It's a good thing you want all of those things, but I asked how would you create the game... and "I want a Skyrim that has developers who care about making it the best they can" is hardly in context to the topic. As a dev, how would you create the game?

This is not an expectation thread or a critic one, neither it is a complaint one. It's hardly a thread about how YOU would've made Skyrim, not necessarily compared to Skyrim.

I would make Skyrim shamelessly rip off Demon's Souls combat system, but make it more accessible.

Hmmm.. Daggerfall's skills, morrowind's armor slots/variety with skyrim's current graphics and combat. Like the idea of no classes/attributes too.

Edit: Minus the dodging, critical, and language checks. I don't think they would work in Skyrim hahah.

-Archery is still a stealth skill, there is only one armour skill, and a climbing skill in stealth, and also hand to hand is in with weapons in it's category such as katars and claws
-Attributes are in, but they are better organised than in Oblivion and go up like levels
-Cities will be larger, even if there is a small cost in detail
-Armour is like in Morrowind, excessive enchantment issues is avoided by allowing different maximum enchantment levels based on how many slots they cover (Robes will allow for more enchantment for example)
-The worldspace is 8x8 miles approximately.

Yes, but some went into 3rd person, and it's been confirmed this happens automatically and you can't choose whether or not to do it.

By whom? Do you have a link? I have heard nothing on the matter. If this is true, then I will gladly smack myself in the face for having claimed an unconfirmed, false preconception. o.o
