Do we know...?

Considering this is a steam game, how do you know where "DLC" ends and "Add-On" begins?

If they sell items that are purely aesthetic I think view people will buy them. Why bother when it's all aesthetic?

Style, sure, but at the cost of real money, no thank you. If it doesn't expand my gaming experience, it isn't worth money. For instance, if they release a pack of weapons for DLC, unless it is quite substantial, I wouldn't bother buying it. If they release new maps though, I would definitely consider it since each map is like a different experience.

Well considering the nature of most DLC, if there is and for brink it would probably have maps, guns and customisations. A full add-on would do a lvl cap increase and new skills, plus all of the previous.

If there is more levels, I only want another five levels or so to the cap. I don't want this becoming WoW with people insane over leveling up.

I wonder how difficult it'll be to level up in this game. With only a level cap of 20 it cant take that long.

I am predicting something on the scale of levels 30-50 in BFBC2.

That'd be horrible. I don't want to be level 20 after a month of playing it but I don't want to make leveling up a career choice either.

Well, it's only a career choice if you make it your mission to reach 20. I personally would really like it. Adds balance and a sense of mega-accomplishment when you do reach another level.

If I remember correctly, if you play through both campaigns you will be about level 15. Playing both campaigns is said to be about 10 hours of gameplay on average.

i like the fact it has no stat benefits :) means you can really make your character look how you want it to! If things have stats, so many people will be looking the same, trying to reach the same type of 'build'

Indeed. I love the way SD worked this out.

Seconded for no benefits. It is how it should be, because they sell the game also on the creativity when customizing your character, so putting stats (hence trends toward optimal setup) would be illogical.

I wouldn't mind ot see some clothes DLC packages. Don't know if I would buy them, but if the game is well done and I stick to it for some time, then I might consider buying such a dlc. But then it should be a big pack with lots of clothes, and not just 1 outfit for 2$ or something. And even better, of course, would be complete add-on containing a set of new maps, new customization items, maybe a new class, etc... But it will be hard to make an add-on add something that DLC cannot, especially if you don't want to split the players community between addon users and the rest.

Also, in this game, it will be important to swap classes mid game, so adding stats to customisation items would make doing so more difficult thus deter players from doing this, making the game not play as seamlessly, and making it much more frustrating.

Poorly Horse

Very well put together point. I haven't thought of it like that.
