KNOWING CRYTEK NOW; WILL YOU BUY CRYSIS 3 ... YES or NO >>>>

Post » Sun Jul 17, 2011 1:48 am

I would buy it - Crysis 2 ended up being one of the best games yet made. However it wouldn't be a Day1 for me, I wait to read some reviews and see how patching goes before buying.

Yes, I surely would. Crytek has released (4) games that I own... FarCry, Crysis, Crysis Warhead/Wars, and now Crysis 2. Even if you considered Crysis 2 a total failure, which it's not, they would still have a 75% good rating in my book. However, I give them more than 75%, cause Crysis 2 works perfect for me now.

Yeah.. it was somewhat buggy at first for alot of people, but not for me, and yes the hackers were completely out of control @ the beginning, but I've seen "ALOT" worse, games so buggy that you could'nt even launch them without locking up Windows.

I think alot of people are ok with Crysis 2 now, I see more players online than I did a month ago, so it's apparent to me alot of people are happy now with it.

So easily a "YES" for me...

Questions and options that I suggest:
*Will you buy Crysis 3 when it comes out?
- Yes, of course.
- Yes, I would like to, if there would be less bugs, and more official support.
- No, Crytek disappointed me.
- No, I don't have money for such expensive games.
- Not sure, I'm not gonna decide untill trailers, news and reviews come out.

Yes, I would purchase Crysis 3 if they release it. A lot of companies aren't known to re-create mistakes otherwise what's the point of releasing another sequel to the failure of the previous game?
People on this forum expect way too much with a tiny time frame, sure, the orbital lag still hasn't been fixed, but they are delivering what they promised now. (DX11, sandbox 3 etc).
I'm not here to bash people who have their own reason why they hate Crytek and their release on Crysis 2, I'm merely stating from my observation of lurking on the PC section.

I definately will, even if it's only to find out what happens next in the story.

That aside, the first game was a masterpiece and yet it still had problems. The second game they appealed to a wider demographic (is that the word?) and tried out for consoles, and I say they succeeded in that department. They made an amazing engine that could run on consoles and now with DX11 on PC it looks simply amazing.

This is all overshadowed by numerous glitches, sound bugs dating back to Crysis 1, hackers in MP, a VERY POOR start to the games release and other things I probably forget.

I can look past all this, since most of it has either been fixed or will be addressed later. I love the Crysis franchise to death.

Someone mentioned earlier that C2 is a console port, Hmm ...really? consoles run dx11 these days? Consoles have 1.5 GB of VRAM usage in SP?
Well your effing right i'm gonna gets me C3(God willing of course), C2 is the best lookin' game in the world and has the best MP gameplay of any FPS EVER made.
Oh Boo HOO it was released with some bugs and still needs optimized, big deal, look what we have, this game is next-gen ffs.

People in here who say they will buy Crysis 3 right away are all FOOLS.

Did you not remember the broken @$$ game that they released? Do you not remember the false information they released to the public to try and boost sales (no dx11), do you really enjoy console ports (during release)? Do you really enjoy a STILL buggy MP after 4 months of release? Do you enjoy randomly loosing weapon unlocks and auto-nano reboot??? Do you enjoy a weak anti-cheat that hackers use the same cheats patch after patch easily???? DO YOU ENJOY PAYING $60 FOR A BETA??? YOU ARE FOOLS!!!!

With that said...I MAY buy Crysis 3...but I GUARANTEE you i will not pay full price for it (or any other EA/Crytek game), and unless I can get it for real cheap, I will not buy it right away until they fix alot of the stupid problems. So judging by how slow fixing Crysis 2 is going, I would probably wait 6 months after Crysis 3 release.

I will be honest, today Crysis 2 is better than it was on release day...There is now Ultra settings + dx11 which should have been there since day 1. SP is now playable with little glitches/bugs. MP has less glitches. The Sandbox editor is very nice as well......But it being better now is no excuse because this game should have been this way since day 1.

But still...in MP you still have the same hacks due to weak anti-cheat..and you still have a goddamn orbital lag thats been there since day 1. Not to mention people still lose their unlocks randomly and even worse auto-nano reboot.

When the game was first released it looked not that much better than the Xbox360, they even left the "Press Start to Begin" message on the demo. Crytek just recovered the game with the DX11 stuff and better textures.

Indeed, and now it's no.1, my current top pics are C2 & FEAR3.
These4 folks that bash C2 continually never mention what other games they play that are SOOO good, but i don't need to know, they're all playing Harry Potter(Witcher2).

Did you really just imply that Witcher 2, a game that got WAYYYY better ratings and widely accepted by the gaming and professional community with open arms, is a worse game than Crysis 2??? BWHAHAHAHAAHAHAH

You really are an idiot. You should stop posting now.

The Witcher 2 is a quality game actually, one of the best looking DX9 games out there and the texture quality matches that of Crysis 1.

The Witcher 2 was good for the PC. To have a dedicated game with great production values & graphics gave PC users some cause for optimism. I didn't play it though because Trolls and Elves don't really interest me. I've seen it being played though and whilst the graphics were good, Crysis 2 edged them IMO. Of the 2 Crysis 2 is still a better game.

So my opinion to the topic:
Yeah I think I'll buy the next Crysis game cause I love the first and the second game and I now that Crytek care about their customers, even the PC-Gamer or why they made the free DX11 and HighRes Packs? I love the game, my friends love this game so why don't buy it? I just hope that EA changes until the next gamereleases of Crytek because I think they are the bad men because THEY love the money and not the games... So I don't think that the mistakes of the release of Crysis 2 were the fault by Crytek.
And I can't understand why people hates this game... if they don't like it why they are still playing it and let everybody know how bad it is???
Can someone answer this question for me?

Here, here.

Saying that though the fallout series is the sort of RPG I'd play, but I'm with you on the elves and fairies comment. Comparing a swords and sorcery type game to a near-futuristic FPS is idiotic.

Because it's not what PC gamers expected after Crysis 1 and Warhead. The demo was bad and they released the demo on the Xbox360 first. Basically, it caters to console owners more.

You have to understand that things like graphics options and press start to continue, are just tell tale surface signs for ports. The worst part of the porting is the cuts and limitations to gameplay that they take, the compromise of fluidity and strength of a player. Most people I know who were devoted to Crysis 1 and Wars have found that the loss of so much in this game is too much to continue playing it, and I hope it's not too hard for some to understand their viewpoint.

I'm still here because I like at least some aspects of C2, and see it as still the better choice compared to any other shooters on offer.
I just want to see Crytek turn themselves around and bring focus back on what Crysis first brought, in both SP and MP. Too bad it would probably take another PC exclusive or at least seperate platform developments for that to happen, so I will just wait and see where Crysis 3 seems to be heading when it starts to appear.

What does that have to do with anything? Crytek just added DX11 and better textures 3 months later which doesn't make it built from the ground up PC game.

The proof is in the demo that Crytek released, since they just ported the Xbox360 to the PC for time reasons and forgot to get rid of the "Press Start to Begin"
