Knowing Quarls & Co. Normal Map Problem.

Hello @ll,



beside scripting culprits I have found another, texture related, problem in Oblivion.



I have installed Quarls TP 3 Redimized, which is uploaded on OblivionNexus in its most complete form with UOP compatiblity patches.



Now, I have found two locations using the same floor texture in interiors.


The Wawnet Inn, and Weynon Priory. The texture is saved as 'Oblivion\Data\Textures\Architecture\farmhouse\stonewalk.dds', with its corresponding normal map 'stonewalk_n.dds'.



Now, the later is really horrible, so, swiftly I did create a better normalmap.

As for the Wawnet Inn the result is really good. (1st & 5th picture)


But not for Weynon Priory. (2nd picture)



Also you can see the 'stallroof01.dds' together with the 'stallroof01_n.dds' normal map in the 3rd and 4th picture.


Both from Wawnet Inn. the 3rd picture reveals good details, while in the 4th picture the texture seems like blurred.


A 'double' effect. similiar to the 'stonewalk.dds' texture example above, not in different locations but the same.



According to nifskope those textures are the identical.


Is someone able to give me advise why they still differ in quality?
