[Relz] Kogoruhn Rebalanced

Post » Tue Oct 11, 2011 4:14 am

I was getting sick of how easy Kogoruhn was to get through, even at +100 difficulty, despite the amounts of high end equipment you could get in it, so I made this.

Planet Elder Scrolls (Pending)

This mod does the following:
Spoiler
- Increases the amount of Sixth House creatures in Kogoruhn significantly. (But not to a ridiculous extent.)

- Replaces a number of Daedra and Undead creatures with Sixth House creatures. Daedric and undead minions shouldn't outnumber the followers of House Dagoth in a stronghold like this.

- Removes the Ebony Spear found in the upper part of Kogoruhn.

- Moves the Dead Hero with glass armour and Fury to the former room of the Ebony Spear. Replaces his armour with Imperial Templar armour to show his faction and rank. (He was an upper level Imperial Legionary.)

- Puts Fury in the table where the Ebony Spear originally protruded.

- Moves the dead Ordinator from outside Kogoruhn to the cell that the aforementioned Dead Hero used to occupy. Has the side-effect of making a certain Temple quest much harder, but oh well.

- All doors requiring the Kogoruhn Sewer Key (The cell doors, among others) are now trapped, and with a lock level of 75.

- Replaces the Ebony Shortsword of the Khajiit Dead Hero with a Dwarven Shortsword.

- Moves the Kogoruhn Ash Vampire to the room with the Shadow Shield. (I always found it a bit odd that he was an optional battle in a dungeon he should have been the final boss off.)

- Adds a few semi-valuable items here and there so it's worth going to Kogoruhn with most of the good stuff removed.

- Moves the House Dagoth Cup deeper into the dungeon. There's a Limeware Cup in its original location.

- Moved the Daedric Gauntlets in the final room of the dungeon to a different - hidden - location on the same level. Since clearing that particular room is quite a challenge now, I put a pair of Ebony Boots there instead. Still a valuable reward, but not quite as valuable.

That should be all, I think. Should be a proper trial/challenge as it was supposed to be now, I think.

To install, just put the .esp file into your Data Files folder. Couldn't be bothered to compress such a small file.

Cleaned with TESTool.

Nice work, simple yet effective. Maybe an optional .esp with all the vanilla goodies left intact? (though I guess I can edit it myself for my personal use)

Was considering doing something like that as well, so perhaps I'll give it a try.

Yes, though I plan to actually play the game more than modding it this time. :ninja:
