» Thu Nov 13, 2014 2:52 am Let me start off to say that i'm a bit of a perfectionist at playing this game, I absolutely hate when things dont go my way, if any glitch happens in any character I make it's a reset.
I have over a week's worth of build in a female nord character, which i'm enjoying alot but unfortunently I have encountered glitches that are bothering me alot.
A few days ago not sure how many i was arriving to markarth and along the way i cleared kolkesggr mine it's a mine east of markarth filled with forsworn and gold ore veins.
I knew that the mine closer to markarth stables has two guys who talk about kolskeggr mine being taken by forsworn that is...pavo and skaggy scar-face.
if you either talk to any of these guys they will give u the same quest, i talked to pavo and not skaggy, i received the quest and immidiatly the option of "i cleared kolkesggr mine" appeared in the dialogue and he congratulated me and offered gold coins as the reward.
Now..with that said quest was done and everything was fine right? or so i thought...
Way much later in game days I remembered that maybe i still didnt had acess inside orc strongholds but i didnt tested it THEN and i knew that the orc that lives with pavo in those mines in markarth does give u permission to enter orc strongholds instead of trying to find the forgemaster's fingers ( which btw was also bugged because the map didnt showed the exact location of where they might've been), but anyways, i talked to that orc he didnt said what i wanted, he still had the same default dialogue before I accepted the kolkesggr mine quest.
I left the miner's barracks and found skaggy, he had the option of letting me go back to kolskeggr mine and clear the forsworn once again and i said to myself..sure why not?
( for future reference despite the orc not saying he gave out word to other strongholds that i was trustworthy and bloodkin to be let inside those such strongholds STILL allowed me to visit them later on because I tested this and it still works, so maybe just by clearing the cave and not nessecarely talking to him grants you permission to go inside any of them ).
so anyways back to kolskeggr mine, I fast travelled there and the forsworn had spawned back on the outside of the mine, there was a distressed woman in roughpun tunic and footwraps which gives u a minor quest to visit miswatch fort, a chicken and a guard, i'm notifying you all of this because reports say that once you clear kolskeggr mine u would see pavo and the orc spawning back in front of the little miner's house there. i didnt saw them because they were obviously still in the older mine close to markarth's gates and also the guard does not appear untill you clear the cave for the first time, he was there though.
so i decided to go inside kolskeggr mines and the game crashes, i reset my xbox 360, tried it again and another crash...
so i said to myself..great another glitch to pile on top of this...
I felt the need to find gold ores and i did, i looked up online where to find them and i obtained the gold ores but that's not the point...you see i know this game has alot more glitches than most conventional games i've played and it's a serious issue because most of them can be game breaking...
This one isnt but it is not allowing me to go inside the holy grail of gold ores which could be a hazard for me personally since there's a few utilities in gold because i do like to craft my own necklaces enchant and then sell them for some really nice prices.
I just NEED acess to this damn cave..
I noticed that back in markarth's gates mine pavo and skaggy STILL had the option to tell me to clear the forsworn mine.
I recently killed pavo and a courier gave me a letter of inheritence which is a proof that i have accepted his quest before and he was considered a friendly npc. and the orc fled to kolskeggr miner's house and that place didnt crash the game, only the mine itself does that, so i went in
just now and it still crashes my game.
I'm seriously thinking about resetting this character and start with a new one, i am fed up with game breaking glitches that make me feel like i'm missing something.
This isnt the only glitch im having, i am also having a glitch where ahtar the executioner of solitude isnt giving me the quest to clear broken oar grotto but that quest i know why it's bugged it's because i had a radiant quest to that place before which i received from dragon village's inn and that's why i broke his quest to kill the bandit leader.
So i am really furious about this, i am a perfectionist and i hate that about myself..i know i could go back inside kolskeggr mine and mine all that gold and i know i could have ahtar as a possible follower ( not that i would really need him but he's interestingly enough a decent one ).
So guys im begging you please tell me that you have any possible fix or solution to the kolskeggr mine crash glitch...i'm thinking about either trying to kill skaggy too since he also has the option to give me the quest or just reset and make a new character..
Simply accepting the quest a second time will still not allow me inside the mine it will still crash, i attempted to go inside the mine without accepting the quest and it still crashes so i'm thinking it's just the fact that pavo or skaggy are making it crash or maybe the game cant process wether or not i have cleared the mine yet and gives me this crash or maybe i SHOULDNT have cleared the mine BEFORE talking to pavo or skaggy when they are talking to eachothers in the mine next to markarth..
I know im making this difficult to read and im not even sure if this is the right section of this forum to post bugs and glitches, but if any of you have any more questions about this I can surely help simplify them.
Please i need feedback..
TL;DR The mine of kolskeggr is bugged i cant go in because it crashes my game, pavo and skaggy two npc's near markarth still have the option to give me the quest a second time, wether i accept it or not it still causes a crash on that place. any solutuon on how i can go inside the mine? im trying currently to kill them both or start a new character and with him/her clear kolskeggr mine AFTER i receive the quest to do so.
*EDIT* FOUND IT, it was pavo AND skaggi they were both bugging the game. since they have the option to tell u to clear the mines of kolskeggr that will always causes the mine to crash u need to kill them both, i tried now to kill them both and i tried to kill only skaggy and leave pavo alive, leaving either alive will make kolskeggr mines bugged so u need to kill them both.
