Perhaps there was never a owner of konahrik. Maybe its just granted to the one who can defeat all the priests. Sounds obvious when i put it that way.
So YOU are the true owner of it?

The mask's name means "Warlord" so I'm guessing the one dragon priest that kicks the other's asses is crowned Konakrik.
I have no idea whom it belonged to before though.
Vahlok or Miraak likely were the Dragon Priest(s) chosen to wear Konahrik in times of War. IMO Vahlok was freed to die as a Man, unlike every other named Dragon Priest.
Did he worship dragons? Cause I have no idea but I think that's how you get a dragon priest mask.
I actually think Konahrik once belonged to Miraak because his current mask "Miraak" looks as if it was created by Hermaeus Mora. What if Konahrik was either taken from Miraak or something after he turned on the dragons?
No. Ysgramor wasn't a dragon priest. A dragon priest is the leader of a dragon cult, i.e. dragon worshippers. A mask is given to you personally by the dragons.
That makes sense and it would explain why no priest owned the mask until you get it.
He was a dragon priest who led the rest. Below is a link, and it is #20

EDIT Konahrik is also in #23 and 24
Do we know how far back in time the wooden mask takes you? Because it takes you back to when Bromjunaar wasn't destroyed.
But is there even any actual proof that there in fact was a dragon priest named Konahrik? A mere post isn't proof enough.
True, but the Imperial Library is one of 2 sources considered to be the Lore of Skyrim, the other being the UESP.
He is also mentioned in this link, #21

I wonder if this fan article has any true bearing or if it's purely fiction?

An interesting read nevertheless.
I've read that too but there's too many but's and if's to that.
