[Relz] Kragenir's Death Quest 2.01 (Thread 9)

Post » Thu Apr 28, 2011 10:15 am

AWE-SOME.

I was in Skingrad before activating the mod, looking for stuff to do in order to buy Rosethorn Hall. Now that the mod is activated, I have so many active quests that I'm not sure where to go next! Going to places I never visited before even allowed me to do some vanilla quests I wasn't aware of. Simply brilliant. Thanks a lot for your work.

povuholo, I'm still having trouble with the "Killing the Queen" quest. I killed the rat queen (and got the resulting journal update); however, on returning to Weebum-Na, he no longer has a "Rats" topic in his dialogue options. I do have the very latest version of KDQ.

I thought I fixed this in 2.01... I'll have another look.

Edit: Found the problem. How I ever missed this I don't know. If you use 'setstage povssleyawiin3quest 25' you'll get the stage that would trigger when you click the topic. Because of the bug it will now make the topic appear instead. Use the console command and click on the topic for your reward, I think that should work.

Recycling the Rubbish -- I was unable to find the paint brush. I suspect it got kicked aside somewhere while the marauders and the bandits were having their little disagreement and landed somewhere that I just cannot see it.

It should be on the first level of Rockmilk Cave, at a dead end which is just behind a door (one that opens, not one that loads a new level). In the corner on the floor next to an open barrel. I think I'm going to add a subtle glow effect to the small items for this quest because they can be a bit hard to see.

WalkerInShadows: The bandits should initiate a conversation with you. Could they have been distracted by a hostile creature or something like that? I'll see if that's possible. You can click on one of the bandits with the console and use 'startconversation player greeting' to force the conversation.

So far for hoping that I'd be done with bugfixing for a while... :P

There weren't any monsters in evidence... they appeared about 20 feet away (well within sight) and just stood there. I've already completed the quest (setstage 40), so I can't try to console command.

Using the setstage command fixed it right up; thanks! Although I'm not sure I really wanted the "bonus" reward I got for killing the queen... :lmao:

I will take another look next to that barrel. I do know which room it is supposed to be in.

Later: It was next to that open barrel. I think just adding that it is next to an open barrel in the spoilers might be enough. I was able to find all the other items without even referring to the spoilers. Frankly with my lack of talent at finding things, if I can find it, probably just about anyone can.

Two things: First...

Second: What does the UL-Lost Coast patch do? I just noticed that I didn't have it installed, so there must have been a good reason - I just can't recall what it was. :(

Two things: First, I installed 2.02a earlier today, and my game's been acting really wonky - crashing way more often than usual, lagging, etc. I'm going to try reverting to 2.02 to see what happens. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother posting until after checking, but I had a second question...

Do you use a mod called Unique Landscape - Lost Coast? If you don't, there is no need to use the patch.

Just wanted to drop a quick line.

I downloaded this, not for the main quest but rather the small ones all around cyrodill... But when the freakin ghost came up to me while I was sleeping... you had me dude.

"Opps, they saw me."

I might be stupid, but that's a hell of a funny line coming from a Ghost.

First conversation with the man in the Pell inn, had me crackin again... Seriously "I've been to school."
Ah just loving this mod right now, wanted to let you know :)

No... really?

My question was: What does the patch alter to make the two mods compatible? Yes, I'm using Lost Coast... but I don't have the patch installed. I'm very particular about having the proper patches, so if I didn't have the patch, there must be a good reason for it.

The patch moves a special slaughterfish added by KDQ, because Lost Coast covers the water area he was originally in with sand, making it impossible to find him if you were using Lost Coast. It also moves a nearby book that would otherwise end up below the landscape as well, and a map marker.

I'll have a look, there should probably be an update after you get one reward. Still, there are 2 sets of names so the quest won't close until you've brought back both. Did you get all 14 of them?

No idea, honestly. I found a bunch of names before I found the questline. Once it updated and gave me the scroll to hand in to Ocato, I simply took it to him and he gave me 25,000 gold. I just noticed the quest still tells me to hand it in to him, but he has nothing else to say about it.

edit: derp. I never did notice that the quest said "I found the first set of names." I feel dumb now, but it's all in good fun. Top notch mod.

In other news, I went looking for Raminus Polus and he wasn't around - he should be in the tower lobby during the day. Nor could I find Halithril (I think that's her name...Heinrich Oaken-Hull's wife). I checked her house (locked and empty), the taverns (lots of people, but not her) and wandered around town. I just wanted to ask before I used a console command to find her.

Oh, and a question: For the Pillars of Wisdom quest, can you find the pillars before the quest is active? And, are the ruins random or set? I've been exploring various ruins, but I don't have the quest, and I'd hate to have to go check them all again to get all 7 pillars.

In my current playthrough (with the latest version of KDQ), the guy looking for the toy sabre is missing from the Tiber Septim Hotel - I had seen him in my previous Oblivion install on an older version of KDQ. The rumors indicate that he is there, but zi've never seen him no matter what time I go to the hotel - is there a way to get him to appear via console?

May I report a dead NPC called "Pol Gra-Ra" which should not appear in Culotte Ruin before the involving quest is started.

According to the UESP she sometimes meets with Enilroth behind the stables outside Anvil. I don't know what Raminus is up to, maybe he'll be back the next day or in a few hours? He does move around a bit.

Yes the pillars are always there and can be activated at any time. They are in 7 specific Ayleid ruins, always in the same location. And instead of being ordinary pillars that look like all the others they now (as of 2.02) [src="http://i51.tinypic.com/25usagx.jpg"]glow[/url].

I'll have a look. I think I changed something so that he only appears once you've found the sabre already but then I'd have to get rid of that misleading rumor.

Thought I fixed this, I'll check again. Edit: Yep, I fixed the one dead NPC there but not the other. As long as you don't pick up Pol's amulet you'll be fine. Otherwise there might be some missing dialogue when you return to Culotte in the main quest, but even then I think everything will work out if you find the ring on the other dead NPC when that happens.

I found another item and creature in an Ayleid Ruin
Spoiler
Leshob, King of Kingliness >> Lipsand Tarn

In my inventory the sword is marked as quest item and I have no idea from what quest it comes!
I don't know what to do now, maybe leave the sword in the dead creature.
In my opinion this creature shouldn't appear before the related quest is started.

I find it kind of funny that during the quest to get the Shield of Pride your journal says that you shouldn't attack the vampire because she's so powerful. My PC is someone who took down the likes of Mankar Cameron and Mannimarco, and has the Light of Dawn from OOO, and apparently, she can't handle this supposedly powerful vampire?

I know she's essential at that point in time so that the quest won't be so short, but still.

She's vanilla? Oh. I've never met her. I'll have to take a look when I'm down that way next.

Sweet! I haven't found any of them yet, then. Course, I use blue-shader nighteye, so it might be hard to see them, too. :( I'll just have to remain vigilant.

Another one? Sheesh.

You're right, that dreugh is not supposed to appear until you're doing the Boots of Sloth quest from the main quest. I'll go fix that.

Earlier I intended to make her non essential and use some nice scripting so that people who do not heed that warning will be sorry (regardless of level, or god mode :chaos:) but I never got around to doing it.

Right. The other one had the amulet.

Question about the Missing Mounts quest:

I got the notes to talk to other stables in other cities after getting the quest in Bruma. I spoke to the stable boy in Bravil, and he said that there were no horses missing etc., and that took his note away from my inventory. Then I spoke to the stable owner/proprietor in Bravil, and she said that the stable boy might have some clues about 1 missing mount - talking to the stable boy again yields nothing as there is no dialog for horses anymore. Did I miss something, or screw up the quest by talking to the stable boy first?

I know that talking to the stable hand has led me to some clues in other cities (Bruma, Chorrol), but nothing here?

Many of the NPCs will tell you to talk to the other person who works at the same stable, but that's more of a 'in case you haven't already' than 'he knows something'. So you're not missing anthing.
